Chapter 34

Lan Wangji's -- Emerging Desires..!!

"Good morning!" trilled a voice, and Wei Ying jerked awake when a jug of cold water was splashed all over his face.

He bolted upright, wiping away the wet strands of hair from face, squinting slightly in the bright sunlight. "What the- Zu !" He protested loudly. "I was sleeping, woman! Couldn't you wake me up nicely?"

Zu grinned. "I did come to wake you up quietly, dear brother, " she said. "But you wouldn't wake up, and you kept muttering "someone's"name, and saying things which definitely ought not to be heard by children-"

Wei Ying flushed ten shades of red as he remembered his dream. He could easily guess what Zu must have been referring to. He covered his face and groaned.

Zu was still smirking. "I thought you needed a cold shower," she said, and ducked as Wei Ying promptly threw a pillow at her. "Get out!" he snapped. "Of all the ungrateful people..." Zu huffed as she left.

After a long time, it was Zu who was giving him a lift on her bike.

However, the ride was excruciatingly humiliating for Wei Ying , whom Zu left no stone unturned to tease mercilessly about Lan Wangji.

Wei Ying tried to tune her out, but given that she was riding pillion with the subject who was supposed to be ignored, it was a next to impossible feat.

Thankfully, Zu quieted down once they reached college and Wei thanked his stars that Wangji wasn't anywhere near as they walked down the corridor to their first calss. Unfortunately, he had apparently thought a moment too soon, for he collided headfirst into something very solid.

Zu, who was behind her brother , stifled a snicker.

Colour rushed back into Wei Ying's face as he realised who he had collided into.

His previous night's dream flashed through his head, making him blush harder.

However, Lan Wangji was looking at him, but it was as though he wasn't seeing Wei at all. There was a strange sadness in Wangji's face, which lasted only a moment before his face went back to being inscrutable as ever.

"Lan Zhan ?" he asked.

"Hi, Wei Ying ," he said, his voice and expression neutral. "Hello, Zu ." Then without further ado, he simply walked past them. And for once, Zu was silent.

And Wei Ying felt lost and a little sad in his heart. He had no idea why, but just then Wangji's cold aura made him uncomfortable. He wondered was it his illusion or was Wangji not in a great mood?
