『 braids 』

Venti POV:

I was doing my hair one morning on a branch of the tree at windrise. Suddenly, a dark figure teleported next to me.

"Morning Xiao~" I greeted him, brushing my hair thoroughly with a comb.

I swung my legs back and forth, it was nicer having Xiao there, even if he wasn't that sociable.

"What's that?" Xiao asked me.

"What? This? It's a comb! It's for making your hair nice and smooth and so it has no tangles in it!!" I said, I liked telling Xiao about things he didn't know about, but then it hit me.

"Wait- you've never used a comb?! Have you never combed your hair?!" I asked with a shocked look on my face.

"I don't know.. Morax used to just run his fingers through my hair when I was younger, I don't think that counts though." Xiao said.

"B-But your hairs so soft and fluffy..!!" I stuttered, running my hands through his hair and playing with it.

"You know what! I'm doing your hair today! Turn your back to me." I said with a confident smile.

"But I want to see your face." Xiao said.

"You can look at my beautiful face later. Now turn around." I said, he turned his back to me and started softly combing his hair.

I didn't tug too hard, he might just pull away. After I finished, I started to just play with his hair a little. I tried to braid it, but failing.

"Your hair is too shorttt!!" I whined.

"Face me." I said.

He turned around and looked at me with no emotions. I started to comb the hair at the front of his face.

I started to tie his hair up into a small palm tree looking thing on top of his head, I couldn't help but laugh.

"Hahahahah!! You look so stupid- haha!!" I laughed loudly.

Xiao POV:

"Hahahahah!! You look so stupid- haha!!" Venti laughed and giggled.

I knew how stupid I looked, but I didn't care. Even if I'm being stupid, it's all worth it to see Venti laugh and smile. I couldn't help but put a soft smile on my face, I loved Venti's face when he laughed, he was always so happy.

Though, my hair slowly got loose and the hair tie popped out, letting my hair down my face again.

I brought my hand up to my hair and ruffled it a bit, making it look just like how it looked originally.

"What the- how do you do that?!" Venti said.

"I just ruffle my hair around and than it goes back. I don't know." I said.

Venti started to ruffle his hair around like I did, but more aggressively, and than he looked at me confidently. I couldn't help but crack a small laugh, he looked so stupid, his hair was everywhere, I couldn't help myself.

"That's not how you do it." I said, flattening his hair back down.

"Hmph! Than I'll go back to my braids!" Venti said, braiding his hair quickly.

I looked at him so it, he moved his hands so quickly, so swiftly against each other, making a neat braid. It was quite fascinating how swiftly his hands moved.

"Can I try?" I asked him after he tied the first braid up.

"Huh? Sure!" Venti said with a bright smile. He handed me the other hair tie and turned the other way.
