Love let out a loud scream as sudden darkness claimed her.

„Corpse!?" she shrieked, quickly reaching beside her and hugging a pillow close to her chest. She hated being in the dark, especially by herself, it just felt like she was stuck in the void.

She heard him curse inside his office, and soon enough, the door opened. The only light source inside the apartment was the moonlight that crept inside through the windows. She noticed his shadow approaching her, and she tried to ignore her rapid heartbeat. Her fear of random shadows creeping up on her was one of her worst fear, and she felt like she was ten years old again, losing her mind over a power outage.

„It's fine, just the power went out," he sighed, using his phone to illuminate the path in front of him. He shone his light at Love, who situated herself on the couch, her legs up to her chest in fear that some demon might grab them. She looked terrified. „It will be back up in a few minutes."

„This never happened before," she breathed, keeping her eyes on Corpse for some comfort.

„Yeah, it's weird," he agreed and went to light up some candles. It was not much, but he tried his best to comfort her in some way. „Since when are you afraid of the dark?"

„Uhm, is that a real question? Everybody is afraid of the dark." she replied matter-of-factly.

„Not me," he shrugged his shoulder, earning a fearful look from her. „I mean, it's okay. Not a big deal."

„Say that to the numerous demons creeping in the dark corners."

He let out an amused chuckle and placed a candle in front of her on the table. It illuminated her face, taking all the hard edges and turning them into soft lines. She looked like a perfect painting on some rich dude's wall, her eyes dark but soft, the lines of her lips enhanced, her wavy hair flowing down on the right side of her shoulder like a beautiful chocolate waterfall.

And god, the way she was looking up at him made his breath hitch in his throat.

„Were you streaming?"

Her question caught him off-guard, and after clearing his throat he had to look away from her. He was sure his tongue would fail him if he tried to talk to her while looking like the fucking Mona Lisa in real life.

„No, I don't really stream lately," he admitted sheepishly, gaining a surprised gasp from her.

„Why? People love you so much," he could hear the sadness in her tone.

„I haven't seen you stream, either," Corpse pointed it out, making Love blush like crazy. Mostly because of guilt for just ditching her fans like that, and partly because he noticed the small things.

She never said anything about not streaming anymore, mostly because therapy, him, and her trying to get her life back on the right track consumed most of her energy. Love felt like she didn't enjoy streaming that much in the past few times, and would rather give her energy to Corpse.

They spend a lot of time together, and she was grateful to him that he didn't make their friendship awkward because she slipped and drunk texted him, bombarding him with her stupid feelings.

But they didn't go away. Not one bit. She tried her best to not show any of it, hoping that he will forget about it.

While they waited for the power to come back on, they talked about small nothings. But the minutes passed, and the loud thunder and heavy rain started to get more and more obnoxious, and the power was still out.

„Do you have any alcohol?" Love asked out of the blue, getting bored out of her mind.

„I guess. Why?"
