Izuku flexed his hands in frustration, his scarred face twisted into an annoyed grimace. No matter how long or hard he tried to focus, he just couldn't affect living matter.

Once blood left the body it could be affected by Alter. But if that same blood was transfused back into the body then it became invisible to Izuku. He couldn't even see living matter with his 'atom sense'. It was just a big mass of nothing where a person should be.

His eyes snapped open and surveyed the large concrete training hall. Everyone else was making leaps and bounds in improving themselves and developing supermoves for the licencing exam.

Izumi was using the embers of One for All to bounce around a makeshift obstacle course, twirling and leaping between concrete structures with ease. She was wincing every now and again, even the embers still just a little too much for her body to handle.

Shoto was working on controlling his fire, manipulating the flames into rudimentary structures similarly to his father and the way he used his ice. He was becoming quite proficient, but he did not possess the same level of control over fire like he did with his ice.

Ochako was working on extending the amount of time she could spend floating herself without getting nauseous. She was doing excellently, lasting a whole 6 minutes before needing to come back down and rest.

"Please do not worry yourself young Mask." Ectoplasm's clone spoke up suddenly. "It takes far longer for a master martial artist to improve than it does for a novice to become competent. You have almost mastered your quirk, it makes sense that improvement would be slow going. Perhaps you should focus on sharpening your hand to hand?"

Izuku regarded the clone for a moment before nodding.

"Thank you sir. Then, I will be in your care." He said, bowing to the hero.

Ectoplasm lowered into a stance, raising his hand in a 'come at me' gesture.

The next three weeks passed by in a blur. Everyone but Izuku improved by leaps and bounds with their quirks, developing several supermoves that would give them an edge in whatever they were doing.

Izuku on the other hand had brushed up on his hand to hand, and practiced with his metal arm, using every gadget at some point to try and get used to each feature.

Before they knew it, class 1A were standing outside of the test site where they would (hopefully) be getting their provisional hero licences.

"Alright class 1A! Let's do this!!" Kaminari exclaimed.

"Do your best everyone!" Yaoyorozu encouraged.

  "Plus-!"

  "ULTRA!!!!!" A voice interrupted.

The class turned to the person that had interrupted their motto, coming face to face with a very tall teenager grinning like a loon.

"Yorashi, it's rude to intrude on other people's huddles." A new voice spoke.

The boy seemed to come to a realisation, his eyes widening even as his forehead plummeted to the pavement, slamming into it in a deep bow.

"I am.. SO VERY SORRY!!!" He practically screamed, his forehead still pressed to the ground, blood beginning to pool. "I just love UA so much, I couldn't resist! Plus Ultra! The height of hot bloodedness, I love it!!"

The other school left quickly, taking the very Kiri/Tetsu like teenager with them.

"That." Aizawa spoke up. "Was Shiketsu. The school second only to UA."

Murmurs broke out amongst the class, though they were once again interrupted by a new voice.

"Eraser??" A woman exclaimed. "Eraser, is that you??!"

Izuku watched on gleefully as his father proceeded to die inside, his normally impassive expression turning into what could only be described as horror.

A woman with bright green hair dressed in a colourful hero costume came striding over, a large grin on her face.

"It is you!!" She said as she came closer. "Let's get married!"

Aizawa's expression somehow became even worse.

  "No."

  The woman burst into laughter.

Mina, who had gotten her hopes up, cried out in despair from the back of the class.

Izuku studied the woman. His gaze swept over to his father. Then back to the woman. Then back to his now glaring at him father.

Embrace your inner Todoroki. Hmm... Green hair... Smile...

  He stepped forwards, feigning confusion.

"Hey dad, who's this?" He asked.

The woman's gaze switched to Izuku. They locked eyes and smiled.

"You must be mum." He said, a shit eating grin hidden behind his mask.

"That is correct!" She laughed, clasping her hand to his and shaking vigorously.

"It's nice to finally meet you!" Izuku snickered, enjoying the way his father's expression looped through the stages of grief, yet never landing on acceptance.

"You too son! Your father can't stop gushing about you!" Miss Joke said, turning to Aizawa. "You should have introduced us sooner dear!"

Aizawa just mustered the most unimpressed glare he could. Unfortunately it did little to diminish their laughter.

Izuku adjusted his costume slightly, tugging the sleeves as he walked into the testing site.

Looking around, he could see several distinct groups of costumed teenagers keeping with their own classmates, occasionally eyeing class 1A.

Stepping into the space between Ochako and Izumi, Izuku began clicking quietly.

"We are at a distinct disadvantage thanks to the sports festival. Our quirks, personalities and fighting styles have been seen and dissected by every other hero student here. The result of that disadvantage is obvious. We will be the first targets on everyone's radar."

"Well then, what's the plan Vice President?" Shoto asked quietly, a singular eyebrow raised.
