Chapter 36: Ohana

"Sawsaw suka mahuli... taya!"

"Taya ka!"

"No, papa! My finger didn't get caught!"

"Oh sige, isa pa, isa pa. Sawsaw suka mahuli... taya!

"Nooo!"

"Taya si Moon! Kikiliti siya ni Papa!"

"Papa, no! Hahaha! Wag kilikili, no!"

I opened my eyes and a plain white ceiling welcomed my sight. I felt a sting of pain on my dry lips when I smiled. I was dreaming of Josh and Moon having fun while playing. Nakakatuwa. Napapangiti na lang nang kusa ang puso ko.

Lumunok ako ngunit nasaktan lang ang nanunuyo kong lalamunan. My whole mouth is so dry, also my lips. My lips and throat are screaming for water.

"Tawtaw tuka mahuli, taya!"

I frowned when I suddenly heard Moon's voice coming from the right side of the room.

"Oh no! Taya si papa."

My eyes widened when I heard the second voice in my ear. Lumunok ulit ako kahit na masakit sa lalamunan at pilit akong lumingon sa kanan ko kahit na sobrang bigat ng pakiramdam ko. I feel sick.

What just happened? The last thing I remember is I passed out because of an extreme headache while waiting for Moon to come back. And now, I just realized that I'm currently at the hospital, laying on a bed, with an IV connected on my left hand.

Napalunok na lang ulit ako dahil sa senaryong nakikita ko ngayon. Nasa kaliwang bahagi ng kama si Josh at naka kandong sa binti niya si Moon. Hinabol ko ang hininga ko dahil sa nagbabadyang pagpatak ng mga luha ko. Am I awake? I'm awake, right? I'm not dreaming. Am I?

"Pitik ka sa noo, papa!"

"Oh sige," he lowered his head and closed his eyes until Moon flicked her little fingers on his forehead. "Ouch," arte niya kahit na halatang hindi naman iyon masakit.

"Huh?" She instantly looked worried. "Sorry! Sorry, papa ko!" Moon pulled his neck and kissed his forehead. "Okay na, papa? Sakit pa?" She asked in a cute voice.

He nodded while pouting a bit. "Sakit pa, bebe." Arte niya.

"Oh no!" Moon looked like she didn't know what to do. "Kiss kiss na lang ulit ni Moon, papa?"

"Sige, kiss pa si papa." He lowered his head again before closing his eyes. Moon on the other hand showered his forehead with kisses. He smiled slowly while chuckling. Sa sobrang focused nila sa isa't isa ay hindi na nila ako napansin na kanina pa nanonood sa kanila.

"Okay na, papa ko?" She asked, concerned.

He nodded. "Okay na okay." He cupped her tiny cheeks and gave her a long kiss on the forehead too. "I love you." Malambing niyang saad. "Love mo ba si papa?"

"I love papa ko!" Moon answered.

"Talaga? How much?"

Moon spread her arms as big as she can. "Like this big big!"

Josh chuckled and hugged Moon from her side. "Love na love ka rin ni papa."

"This big?" She asked while spreading her arms again.

"Mas big pa diyan."

"As big as the hospital?"

"Even bigger than the whole universe." He answered. "I love you." He genuinely said while looking at her intently.
