Chapter 5: Tis but a scratch!

I watch Jaune fall through the sky ahead of me flapping his arms and spinning uncontrollably.

I can't reach him! If I don't do something fast he'll die!!

Trying to come up with a plan to save him, he's suddenly stuck to a tree by a spear.

Jaune: (weakly) "Thank you..."

Pyrrha: "I'm sorry!"

Further in the distance I see Ruby flying on a collision course with a bird.

Ruby: "BIRDIE NO!"

She fires off round from crescent rose to slow her decent.

Well that's one thing I don't need to worry about. Now what was that other thing?

I look forward and see the Trunk of a tree rapidly approaching.

Ah right... that...

Quickly I summon Yoru and throw it behind me and appear next to the blade trying to reduce my velocity. Thinking I'm going slow enough I throw the blade at one of the tree's roots I teleport, landing and rolling forward to help disperse the rest of the impact.

Looking up I see Weiss emerge from the bush. Looking at me.

I throw my arms up holding Yoru in my right hand smiling at her.
(Y/n): "Bestie!"

She immediately turns around and walks back the way she came.

Weiss: "By no means does this make us friends."

Ruby: "You came back!!"

Well I guess Weiss and Ruby are partnered up.

Just above (y/n) Jaune is struggling with the spear keeping him to the tree.

Pyrrha: "Jaune? Do you still have spots on your team?"

Jaune: "Very funny."

(Y/n) turns around seeing the two look at each other.

(Y/n): "hey guys!"

He looks up at Jaune. He waves awkwardly

(Y/n): "So.. you just 'hangin' in there?"

Both Pyrrha and Jaune groan.

Yang: (looks around) "I feel like I'm being boo'd."

Blake: "We're the only two people here. You're just imagining things."

Yang: "Uh yah.. probably."

They both keep walking North.

Jaune, Pyrrha, and (y/n) are standing at the base of the tree Jaune was in.

Jaune: "Wait you didn't find a partner yet?"

(Y/n): "Nope not yet."

Pyrrha: "Well would you like to travel with us until you do?"

Jaune: "Yah the more the merrier, right?"

(Y/n): "I'd like that but something's telling me I should go it alone for a bit. We can meet back up at the relics I'll wait till you guys get there."

Jaune: "Alright man good luck."

Pyrrha: "Yes, do be careful."

(Y/n): "Don't worry I'll be fine. I'm gonna head this way ok? I'll see you!"

He runs off to the right while the other two go left.

After a few minutes of walking he stops in a clearing of tall grass. Smile fading being replaced by a look of annoyance.
