ONE YEAR LATER

FEBRUARY 8TH

No perspective

"Oh my goodness!" Edora exclaims, kneeling down on the floor with her arms out with in front of her. "Look at you standing all by yourself. Can you come to mama?"

Dulcinea stands in front of Edora with a bright smile on her face, clapping her hands as she looks at her mum. Lula and Albie sit either side of Edora, their arms out wide encouraging Dulcie to walk towards them. At thirteen months old, she has managed to take one step before collapsing to the floor and opting to crawl instead and this time is no different. She sits down and crawls to her mum and immediately, Edora is picking her up and holding her above her head.

"What are you doing? Hey? You're supposed to be walking!"

Dulcie lets out a loud squeal of delight as Edora brings her down to press kisses to her cheek. "Okay, let's get your rain suit on little miss." She announces and sits Dulcie down on her lap, thanking Albie when he hands her Dulcie's all in one waterproof.

"It's raining alot." Albie tells his little sister as he sits down in front of Dulcie, wanting to help out.

"Are we going to play?" Lula asks from where she now stands at the window, watching the downpour occur.

"It's not safe to play in this storm, poppet. It's a bit too windy. We're gonna go to daddy's."

Lula gasps and turns to look at Edora, a massive smile on her face. "It's daddy day?"

She grins at her daughter and nods her head. "It is. Are you excited?"

Nodding her head, she climbs off of the stool she was standing on. "Do you think he'll watch rapunzel with me?"

Edora rolls up one leg of Dulcie's all in one and hands it to Albie so he can help dress his sister. She holds her little leg still so she doesn't try and kick Albie away.

"Not Moana?"

"Nah." She says and sits herself down beside Albie. "Moana is for babies. Naya will like it."

Edora frowns at Lula. "But you love Moana."

"Not today." She announces and grabs Dulcie's welly boots from next to the door, to help her put them on. "I love Rapunezel today."

Edora just laughs to herself, shaking her head, making a mental note to avoid anything Moana for her birthday next month.

Once Dulcie's suit is on, Lula takes Dulcie's hands and helps her stand. "Come on, Naya. Wellyboots now."

"Naya's boots are dirty." Albie points out as Edora is putting the boots on, with much struggle.

"That's because Lula poured muddy water over them, remember?"

Lula frowns. "Hey! She told me to!"

"Did she?"

She folds her arms over her chest. "Yes!"

When Edora finally gets both boots on Dulcie, she whisks her up into her arms and rests her on her hip. "Time to go see Dada!" She exclaims and loves the way her daughter's face lights - both of her daughters. Dulcie starts babbling 'dada' over and over again as Edora picks up the multiple bags rested beside the door and swings them over her free shoulder. She ushers all three children out of the door and locks up behind her.

In the past year, Edora has blossomed into the most beautiful version of herself.

It was difficult at first. She had hit a complete rock bottom and even though her goal was to stitch her wounds back together, she had never thought it was possible.
