To Sir with Love

Standing in front of the Shinos sign, you couldn't decide to knock or not. It had been four years since you left that place, not because it was a bad place, like everyone thought, but because you couldn't bare seeing him anymore; Shinomiya, your mentor, your teacher, your crush. How on earth did you think that was a good idea? Declaring his love for you. Of course, he would reject you, you knew that was going to happen. Still, you managed to do it and he rejected you.

After that, working at Shinos wasn't easy anymore, Shinomiya was distant and even cooler to you than before. It was your dream job, it just hurt too much. So, you packed your things and quitted without giving him the chance to stop you. it was one of the most childish things you've done in your life, yet you couldn't find another solution.

Now, four years later, here you were, in front of Shinos. "Y/N?" One of the waiters recognized you immediately. He ran to hug you, the place was already closing, so not too many costumers were still there. "I can't believe you are here! Come! You have to see everyone!" He pulled you inside and took you to the kitchen. "Everyone! Y/N is back!" He yelled and almost every one of them ran to hug you and greet you. It was good to see your friends again.

On his office, moody as always, Shinomiya couldn't concentrate on the new recipe he was working on. Also, there was this weird joy in the kitchen, when everyone should be ready to head home. He crept outside his office to peak at the kitchen when he saw you. His whole world shook at the sight of your face, your hair, your smile. He had to hide again, to regain his composure. You were back, was it for him? Were you just passing by?

Shinomiya regretted every single day for four years that moment when he rejected you. It wasn't as if he didn't like you, he loved you, that was why he personally went to your graduation to offer you that internship, but when you confessed, he wasn't in the best place, and he felt that maybe him, being your mentor, he could be influencing in you, he never wanted to take advantage of you, but he loved you deeply. The moment you left; he realized it. His heart broke in a million pieces.

Now, you were there. And you looked as beautiful as ever. He took a few breaths and walked smoothly to the kitchen, even when inside him he was shaking to his core. You looked a bit older, but only slightly, still beautiful as ever. Everyone was around you; you always were the sun in that place. Shinomiya cleared his throat to get everyone's attention, especially the guy who was holding you tighter. "Miss Y/N, what a pleasant surprise. I thought you didn't want to come here again." Why? Why did he say that? He wanted to smack his own head to the wall, but he remained still focus on you.

You walked in his direction, with a slight bow to him, but a huge smile, "It's a pleasure to see you too, Chef." How could he remain unfazed? He closed the space between you and hugged you in front of everyone. You could hear a few gasps from some employees, he was never affectioned to anyone.

"Do you mind if I steal her for the night?" He said openly to the group. They were already planning to take you somewhere, so you could see a few long faces.

"It's ok. I will be staying here for a while, so we will have plenty of time to catch up." You reassured him and decided to leave with him.

It was not enough for him; it would never be enough. Shinomiya left the restaurant with you, leaving his sue chef in charge and took you, for lack of imagination, to his own apartment. "I hope you don't mind this, but after Shinos, this place has the best food in Paris."

You smiled, "Always so modest." He smiled back at you, and you stood to help him setting everything in the counter to prepare something for the two of you. "Try not to yell at me this time. I don't work for you anymore." You said slightly joking, but he let the knife fall of his hand, "I'm sorry. It was a dumb joke." You tried to excuse yourself, he stopped you before you could reach the knife and hugged you again.

"I'm so sorry for everything, Y/N. I regretted it, I shouldn't have let you go, ever." You hugged him back; you missed his scent. Apparently, you crush wasn't as gone as you thought.

"It's ok. I didn't leave because you were mean. I learned a lot from you, and I don't regret any second of my time here." He took your face in his hands.

"I'm not talking about how I treated you. I'm talking about letting you go, from my side. I regret every single world I said that day. It's been four years full of loneliness and regret." You couldn't believe it. "You have to understand, Y/N. You were a recent graduate, my student, I couldn't just take you for me. It was wrong. But I loved you oh so much, I still do."

"You do?" You asked, your voice barely audible. "I thought I was over all of this, over you, but the moment I saw you," You stopped yourself, "I don't I will ever be over."

He inspected your face for a few seconds, "Good." He said, moving the things in the counter and lifting you instead, "Because dinner is going to take longer than what I thought." He kissed you for the first time, and it felt so magical yet heated and urged. After a few minutes, he stopped, "I don't want you to go." He announced.

"I can stay the night, it's not a problem." You said trying to kiss him again, but he didn't let you.

"No, I mean Paris. I don't want you to leave Paris. Or if you do, maybe you can take me with you." He pleaded.

You took his face slowly, and smiled, "If you would've asked me before kissing me, you would've known that I'm staying here for a while, I enrolled myself on culinary classes."

"You are staying." He stated smiling, you nodded, "Then, you are not leaving my side. Not again." He kissed you again and it was magical. You weren't going to hide what you felt anymore, neither would he.
