Fluff/Slight angst ☁️⛈🥀

Taehyung: emotionally the top, boyfriend
Jungkook: emotionally the bottom, boyfriend

————
"I just wish you weren't just an online love,"
————

you only pass through my city
every once in a million seconds, on a broken clock
yet we talk like we're living
only miles, only minutes from another
just around the block
as i stare at my screen
shinin' blue and green
all alone in a coffee shop
i can't help but imagine
what maybe could've happened
if you weren't just an online love
(inspo: Online Love by Conan Gray)

"When can we meet?" Jungkook asks through the speaker of his phone, and he hears Taehyung, his boyfriend, sigh on the other end.

"I- I don't know, kookie. I'm sorry. I'm trying to scrape together enough money for a plane ticket so I can come over the college break, but it's tough,"

"I know, I'm sorry," he sighed too. The silence on both ends was almost deafening. Like neither of them knew what to say.

Despite only dating for around 2 months, the pair have had their share of petty small fights over something that couldn't really be helped.

They were long distance.

They had met online, and both of them were immediately head over heels when they matched on their dating app. So far, the two have been trying to meet, but the plan would never really follow through. And it was causing some conflict.

They always solved it and apologized, of course. It wasn't Taehyung's fault he was half Japanese and went to school in Japan, where he grew up. And it wasn't Jungkook's fault he was also in college, just in South Korea instead.

"I just wish you weren't just an online love," he had finally said what was on his mind.

"I'm sorry, love," Taehyung apologized again, "I know it's hard. But we got this! We'll see each other soon, plus we always have other times! I'll talk to you later, bunny."

"Okay, yeah," Jungkook perked up. Taehyung smiled, he could head it through the phone, "we have time. It's okay. Thank you, Tae. I'll talk to you later."

Jungkook hung up. He sighed again, for what seemed like the millionth time today, and went to the local cafe.

He walked in, ordered his usual, and sat at his usual booth. He opened his phone as his coffee was being made. He stared at their messages, shining blue and green, all alone in the coffee shop.

"I can't help but imagine what maybe could've happened if you weren't just an online love," he thought to himself. He shut off his phone, grabbed his coffee, and sat back down to work on his college stuff.

Taehyung wasn't going to be just an online love soon, though. He just hadn't told him because he wanted it to be a surprise. He had gotten a ticket to go to Korea and he was going to stay at a motel close to Jungkook's dorm over their spring break. He was damn lucky they decided to make it the same week his university's was.

All he had to do was wait a few more days. In the mean time, Jungkook would go to his favorite coffee shop and text him while working on his school stuff. He would giggle occasionally, laughing at something Taehyung typed in blue and responding quickly with his green.

"I'm gonna miss you," Jungkook said as he got ready to hang up the video call.

"I'm gonna miss you too. What are you gonna do over spring break?"

"Well, sleep. But also clean up some. And eat. Dunno about anything else, maybe go to the cafe I've told you about. Y'know, Cathy's Coffee Shop? It's really tiny and cute. I get all my work done there. Luckily I'm done with mine right now so I won't have to worry about it. I'll just sit there in peace finally,"

"That sounds nice, love." He smiled, Jungkook smiled back. He didn't have any clue he was about to meet him there that time tomorrow.

"Well, I should be going. Errands to run. Bye, Tae Tae!"

"Bye, kookie,"

Jungkook sighed. He really wished to see him this break. But it couldn't happen.

He walked in around his usual time, the bell on the door and the smell of sweetness in the air greeting him warmly. He smiled at Cathy, the owner, who was working at the counter. She was an older lady who had moved to South Korea from the United States with her husband and kids since her husband had gotten a job there. Her Korean was getting better every day.

"Good afternoon, Jungkook-ah, your usual?"

"Yes, please, Mrs. Cathy," he smiled again, going to sit down in his booth. She brought him his drink a couple minutes later, and left with a wink.

Huh. Odd. What was the wink for?

She was in on it, and he just didn't know.

"Jungkook-ah! Someone at the counter is asking for you!" She called out. Jungkook has just gotten done with his coffee anyway, so he didn't mind getting up, he just didn't know who could've been calling for him. He didn't have lots of friends at his college-

What.

Shock, happiness, and relief took over his body as he started to cry. His boyfriend, Taehyung, the one that had just basically told him that he couldn't see him in person this break, was standing right in fucking front of him.

He practically launched himself towards the older, hugging him tightly and sobbing into his shoulder.

"Wh-what? You're here?" He pulled back, cupping his cheeks. They were warming up, they was a little chilly from the early spring air outside. But dear god this was so much better than a screen.

"I'm here, hon," he smiled, tearing up and starting fo cry too, "I'm so happy to see you."

"Me too!" He said, kissing him right on the lips after. Some teeth got into the mix from how sloppy and fast it was, but it was perfect for them.

"I'm staying here for the entire week. I finally saved up enough to come,"

Jungkook borderline squealed, kissing him again and then hugging him.

"Let's go spend some time together! There's so much I wanna show you, Tae! C'mon!" He grabbed his hand, yanking him with him. He turned around and smiled at Cathy at the counter.

"Thank you, ma'am," he said. She smiled in return and made a hand motion for them to go on.

"Okay let's go!" He giggled, Taehyung laughing after.

Finally they had seen each other in person. Neither of them could be happier.

And as of right now, even just for a little, Taehyung was no longer just an online love.
