I woke up after an hour of nap. I was so thirsty so I decided to go downstairs, it would be my first time going to the kitchen, apart from the tour that Yahel gave me.

As I strutted to the kitchen, I saw a lady collecting dirty laundry, and another lady cleaning the living room.
Two of them were busy in the kitchen.

The elder looking lady came forward to me and asked,
"Hello Miss Ortiz, do you need something? you should have asked one of us."

I looked around for something on which I could write. Then I spotted some paper napkins, I grabbed them and wrote,

Hello, I came to get some water. What is your name? And please call me Alicia.

"My bad Alicia, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Clara Jones, the head maid of the house. You can call me Clara. And my husband Samuel works as a gardener here."

Clara said while she handed me a glass filled with water.

It was nice meeting you Clara, can I help you with whatever you are cooking for lunch?

Oh sweetie you don't need to bother, you just relax. We will handle lunch.

But I am bored.

"Dear, there are so many things in this house to keep you all engaged. You may go to the music room or the library, or play some games or watch some movies. There is also an art room and swimming pool. Want me to take you somewhere."

Am I allowed to go to the library?

"Of course dear, Cina here will guide you to reach there. Okay"

I gave her a nod and left with Cina.

The Library was huge like every other thing in the house. Tall walls covered entirely with books. I wonder if they have a librarian appointed to manage all these books.

There was a table with a few desk chairs. Some bowl chairs were kept here and there. I grabbed a random fantasy book and got settled on the cuddler chair, it was very comfortable with an amazing view of the garden. There was also a soft blanket.
I quickly got settled and started reading. I always loved to read but never got a chance so I am gonna start today.

I don't know for how many hours I was lost in this book. I only took my eyes off it when someone cleared their throat.

Clara was standing beside me with a sweet smile on her face, it instantly made me smile back at her.

"Dear it's time for lunch."

I looked around for some paper, Clara realized and handed me a diary and pen. I gave her a nod as thank you and wrote.

Is everyone already there?

" only sir Issac is there, others are not home yet."

Remembering Issac's words from the morning, about staying 10 feet away from him, I told Clara that I am not hungry and that I'll be there for dinner.

She reluctantly left only to come back after a few minutes with a plate filled with fruits. She only left after she made sure that I finished the very last piece.

Clara was a sweet and understanding lady like a mother I never had.

I don't know anything about my mother or father or how I ended up with my step-parents. I had so many questions but no answers. I didn't have enough guts to ask Lucas or anyone else about all this.

I completed two books by dinner time.

3rd person pov

All day Isaac stayed in his room, not wanting to even see the face of his sister.

He busied himself with some mafia work but found it hard to concentrate. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Alicia seemed to have an eternal lodging.

When his mind was too adamant to not trust Alicia, he believed that her muteness was some drama but his stupid heart always pained seeing her tears.

He was fighting a battle between his two vital organs. It frustrated him and made him snap at every person in front of him.

He wanted to go out with his friends and have a wild time, which would help him to forget all his problems for once.
Nonetheless, he had to be a stay-at-home nanny because the princess can't be left alone.

When he went down to lunch, he made up his mind that he will ignore Alicia like always. But when Alicia didn't show up, he felt a bit disappointed.

He knew he told Alicia to stay away but skipping lunch is taking it too far. He knew Alicia, the brat she is must be expecting him to go to her and beg her Highness to step down from her throne and eat with us peasants. He wasn't going to do that. He was not like Felipe or yahel to dance to her tunes.

He ate his lunch and called his friend-with-benefits girl Molly to spend the night over.
Betty would surely keep him busy enough to think about useless things.

Isaac dismissed Molly right before dinner. Dinner went peacefully. According to the new rule, all siblings together had their dinner. They were together but yet not a family.

A family is not just about blood relations.
Trust, respect, love, care, and understanding are some of the many synonyms of family. In a family, you may not live with each other but you live for each other. You don't mind killing or getting killed for your family. Family comes first and they keep you at their first. Family doesn't need words to talk, a look in your eyes speaks volumes. One for all and all for one is the maxim.

Ortiz's siblings are yet to learn to live like a family, to love like a family.
May the time be the best teacher to teach them...

Let's see what Issac has planned for tomorrow. Will it be another day they spend in their room and library?

Maybe or Maybe not
