Lucas's pov:

"Good morning Mr. Ortiz."

"Morning Clara, all good," I asked Clara, but not about her well-being but so of my siblings and house in general.

"All well Mr. Ortiz, I got to know your sister yesterday, what a sweet angel she is."

I proudly nodded and further asked, "what did she do yesterday?"

" Sir, she wanted to give me a hand in the kitchen but when I refused, Madame reluctantly asked me, if she was allowed to read in the library. That's where she spend all her day yesterday. She even refused to get down for lunch. So I fed her some fruit."

"Thanks for looking after her Clara. Where was Issac yesterday?"
Sorry, thank you, please, these words hardly ever left my mouth. Because these words show emotions and emotions aren't good for business.

Clara was with our family from way back. She has seen the family's transition from happy to broken. She has witnessed it all from my parent's marriage to our birth, from mom's death to Alicia's abduction to her coming back.
Clara now makes sure that we all eat and stay together at least on Christmas.

"Issac sir was in his room the entire day, he came down only for lunch. Later his lady friend joined him."

"how long for breakfast?"

"10 mins sir"

"Good"

Clara always updated me on what was going on in this house. She was my eyes and ears.

Issac, this boy gets on my nerves. He is a rebel. I went to his room where he was peacefully sleeping. I filled a tumbler with cold water and splashed it on his face.

Issac was bow wide awake and was about to scream. But he noticed me and kept his mouth shut.

"why did you throw chilled water on me? That's crazy Lucas, even for you."

"Issac, what did you and Alicia do yesterday? Took her out, watched the movie, or what?"

"um-m Lucas, don't you think it's quite early for this interrogation? Lemme sleep now and I will revert you soon."

"Answer me, Issac Ortiz. Now"

"Fine, we- we went to the park, had lunch together, and went for ice cream. That's all."

"Are you sure?"

"O-of course."

"Fine then today at dinner, you will hand me your phone with all your car keys. Also your laptop and your VIP card.
You can get them back after a week. Keep your burner phone for emergencies.
This is your punishment for not following my orders.
Next, your punishment for lying will be the same as always. That is all your cards will be blocked for 10 days additionally you will be joining the gang gym for training at 4 in the morning. So make sure you wake up on time because it takes 30 mins to travel. Gym Training will be for 30 days."

"that's not fair."

"try defying me today and the time for each punishment will be doubled. So be careful today and as I mentioned earlier, you have to spend today with Alicia and not with any of your girlfriends. I let you have the car today so you both can go out without any excuses from you."

Saying that I left his room, not waiting for any reply. I know the punishments might be a little hard for Issac but he must learn to own up to his mistakes. I am not a villain at least not for my family. I only want the brothers to accept and care for Xia. They all love her, and I know this but they fighting their internal battles. Spending time with each other may help them open up. I want Xia to trust us and treat us not like strangers but like her brothers.

Alicia's pov:

Another day and I can't believe that I am living in a mansion with my brothers. I no more have to live in an attic. Almost a week without any slaps, whips, or harsh words. This all feels too good to be true.

Nevertheless, I know all this is temporary.

As soon as I was done with my morning routine, I rushed downstairs for breakfast.

Everyone was already there except Issac, who joined after 5 mins.

Breakfast was normal apart from Issacs consistently glaring at me. I am happy that at least like yesterday I can spend my entire day in the library.
Can't wait to go back there.

After breakfast, like everyone else, I went back to my room.

15 mins later, the door was banged open, and infuriating Issac stood there.

"I know all your tricks, Alicia Ximena Ortiz. You snitched to MY brother that we didn't spend yesterday together and now because of you I am punished and grounded.

And do you know what the biggest punishment is? I have to spend this day with you. what do you think, with your fake tears you can get my brothers on your side? Not happening. I HATE YOU and so will my brothers when they will see the real you. So dear princess get ready for OUR punishment. Meet me in my car in 10 mins." he shouted then left.

I never said anything to Lucas so I don't know why he is shouting at me. I was in tears when he finished. I didn't want to cry but the shouting and accusations and how Issac stressed that they are his brothers and not mine, I couldn't stop my tears from flowing. Issac clearly said that I am an outsider imposing here.

I guess there is no place on earth that I could call home, where people love me. where I am not a burden.

I DON'T WANNA BE A BURDEN...
