After having a heart-to-heart talk with Alicia, Nicholas went to Martin. He had enough rest on the flight and now he can't rest until his kids get back together and tighter.
He went to Martin's room. "Why are you here papa?"
"This is my home."
"I meant my room."
"I want to talk to you."
"yes"
"I heard you have been staying in your house instead of living with your family. May I know why?"
" you may better ask Lucas about that. He wanted me to stay there and away from family and the mafia."
"If you think so then let me call Lucas over here."
Lucas came and recounted all the events to his father. Later he was dismissed because Nicholas wanted to talk to martin all alone.
Maybe Lucas was The capo of the Spanish mafia but still respected his father the most. At home, his father's words were the last.
Nicholas made Lucas the capo and guardian of his kids as soon as Lucas turned 18. Nicholas missed his wife a lot, therefore fulfilling her dream and somehow feeling connected to her, he went on a world tour. A never-ending vacation. Nicholas on his trip often strengthened his mafia bonds with foreign organizations. He always kept in touch with Lucas who kept him updated about the boys and their business.
Lucas had already briefed Nicholas about how Martin blames Alicia for Mom's demise.
"Martin do you know your mom was the sweetest and purest soul that I have ever known? She was always ready to help anyone in distress. People often took advantage of her selflessness but your mom never held any grudges. You know she hated violence but still, she loved me even though I was the leader of the Spanish Mafia. She never judged my profession. Never asked me to give up this illegal life."
"Why are you telling me all this papa?"
"Because more than me, she loved her kids and she wouldn't think twice before giving her life for them. It isn't easy to give birth to a child, let alone two. When she was giving birth to twins, it was too hard, her body could barely bare it. Then when she got pregnant with Alicia, doctors advised aborting her. They weren't even sure that she would come alive after giving birth. But your mom was so adamant, she told the doctor that she was fine dying as long as her daughter could make it. Long story short she gave birth to Alicia. When she held her for the first time, she had tears she said to me that 'her daughter is an angel and would be the world's most loved girl as she had so many people who love and care for her, she would be the most protected girl as she had five brothers who had her back. She would have my compassion and your courage. She is my pretty angel.'"
Martin had tears in his eyes. He was the most ruthless man, others' screams were like music to his ears, and that man had tears running down his cheeks, he missed his mom.
”Martin, blaming a two-year-old for your mom's poor health is unreasonable. Either you blame twins and each of your siblings. But that would be a disgrace to your mom and her love. The process of childbirth is always painful but that doesn't mean, people should stop having kids at all. Life goes on my son, and instead of blaming others, you should cherish what you have. Your mom was devastated after Xia was kidnapped because she thought she was unable to protect her child. She felt like she failed as a mother. And I was depressed because I failed not only as a father but also as a husband. I couldn't save any of them."
"It wasn't your fault papa."
"Then how is it Alicia's fault? That two-year-old didn't ask for getting kidnapped, she didn't ask for the abuse and scars that she received for almost 11 years.”
"A-Abused?"
"Her so-called step-parents abused her cruelly. Her entire body is painted with those scars."
"I will- I will kill them ."
"Lucas took care of it. Martin, I know you love Xia and you are still here Tintin. All you got to do is just try being less rude and show more care. Break your walls because your sister needs all of us. (martin noded) Now get yourself together Martin. We will be having a meeting before dinner. So in my office, alright. And remember nothing of this should leave this room. "
"Yea dad" . . . . . Except for Xia, everyone was in Nicolas' study, as per their dad's order.
"Okay as I am back now, I would be staying here only now. It's high time that I wear my shoes back. So Lucas you are free from being the boys' guardian but still what Lucas says goes.
Next, the rule he made of having breakfast and dinner together, remains unchanged just like your other rules. (everyone nodded)
Now about Alicia, I think we should tell her about Mafia."
"Dad I oppose this, we can't tell Hermana about Mafia. She is too innocent for this vicious world." Isaac said.
"No child of mine is a weakling. Alicia is a strong girl, she needs to know her roots. She needs to learn to fight her wars."
"She doesn't when her family is with her, we will protect her," Felipe said.
