#AMAHLE

I left the house at 8 and drove to PMB to meet my client, the guy was your well respected business, the kind you don't keep waiting. He was looking to build a block of offices in an open space he had purchased with the help of Siya as his lawyer, that's how he and I were introduced. We met at the site to check everything out and when we were done we went out for lunch.

Him: Mrs Bess I appreciate you driving all the way to meet me

Me: it's a pleasure sir. I take my clients way too serious

Him: you are turning 27 this year if I am not mistaken?

Me: a lady never reveals her age Mr Mathabo

Him: I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours

Me: hahaha except I know everything about you. 35 years old, grew up with literally nothing and worked his way up to the top to roll with the big boys

Him: you can't believe everything you read on paper now

Me: I trust my sources

Him: so you stalked me before you could do business with me?

Me: I make it my duty to know who I'm dealing with

Him: ok miss "know who you dealing with" tell me about you

Me: what about me sir?

Him: don't be silly. I'm only a few years older than you. Call me Clint

Me: ok Clint. What is it you want to know about Mrs Bess?

Him: I want to know Amahle Ngesi

Me: Pity because she no longer exists. sitting before you is Amahle Bess

Him: before me is Amahle Ngesi Bess. I want to know you before marriage

Me: that's digging too deep

Him: I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm just curious as to why you would get married at 20

Me: I was ready to. Why aren't you married?

Him: because I haven't met the one

Me: you won't meet her while buried in a pile of work

Him: but I met you

Me: that's different. I'm Amahle Ngesi-Bess, the daughter of Sinobomi Hlathi and Thandolwethu Ngesi, married to Damon Bess, SA's most successful business man. Everyone wants to meet me

Him: aren't you full of yourself

Me: confidence sells

Him: indeed, it does. Your work is amazing Mrs Bess and I look forward to working with you

Me: then why haven't you signed that contract?

Him: I needed to meet you in person first

Me: ok, and?

Him: you truly are the best there is

Me: why thank you Mr Mathabo

Him: I understand you have to go back to Durban. When can I see you again?

Me: my PA will call you to arrange our next meeting

Him: I don't mean to discuss business

Me: then what do you mean?

Him: you seem like an interesting person and I would like to get to know you Mrs Bess

Me: I don't think it would be appropriate to mix business with pleasure Mr Mathabo
