When I opened my eyes again, I felt myself lying on a soft surface. My surroundings were tinted black and I couldn't see a thing. I couldn't even tell where the walls of the room I was in were. Hell, I wasn't even sure whether this was actually a room or not, this could be anything.

I should probably just go back to sleep and relax, so what if my room looks a bit unfamiliar.

That doesn't mean anything.

Suddenly, when I was about to drift back into unconsciousness, I remembered what had happened earlier and my eyes jolted back open again.

I was fleeing from my brothers when Rayi caught me...

But right before I fell unconscious I asked Rayi why he was on their side. I think I even asked him for help!

Oh Lord, I must've really been out of it if I really did say something like that.

As I tried to grasp onto my situation my hopes climbed up again. Maybe Rayi started questioning his actions after my words and just maybe, I wasn't in the boys' mansion anymore but in a safe place with Rayi.

I lifted my upper body off the soft surface and sat up with newfound strength. If Rayi was really trying to help me, I could run far away from that place and live my life happily ever after.

But as I pushed myself up, I collapsed back onto the mattress.

The pain in my abdomen had just returned, but three times as strong as it had been before.

Grunting, I lifted my arm up and slid a cold hand under my shirt. When I tried to touch the hurting area, I felt a soft material instead of the sticky substance and hard crust I was expecting.

Of course somebody patched me up. I was a bit surprised because I didn't consider Rayi to be such a caring person but maybe my assumptions had been wrong.

I let my arm wander up to the upper part of my body to check my ribs. I have been feeling a dull ache in them ever since I woke up.

I was surprised as to why I didn't feel any bandages or supporting fabric on my chest when I checked the hurting area. Instead I just felt unhealthy bumps and swollen flesh.

That's weird. I was expecting that every single cut and bruise on my body would be covered in thick layers of bandages.

Was this perhaps really Rayi's work? It seemed like the only logical explanation in my opinion. Rayi wasn't very good at showing other people affection or even caring for them.

He probably only took care of the bare necessities and didn't look for further injuries on my body.

Sliding my cold fingers back out of the shirt I sighed. I guess I was stuck in bed for a couple more days now.

I looked up at the direction of where I assumed the ceiling to be in. Maybe the room wasn't black and I was just blind? Who knows.

The moment I was about to close my eyes again, I heard shattering somewhere in the building I was in followed by loud cursing.

It sounded like it came from downstairs. That was definitely Rayi's voice.

The colorful curse streak wasn't followed by any scolding about how cursing isn't allowed in this household which made me realize that I was alone here with him.

My luck couldn't be any better! Even though I didn't succeed with my escape plan I managed to convince someone powerful to help me get away! I pinched my cheek to check whether I was dreaming or not.

I made it out of the devil's den and I was safe now.

Things were finally getting better and when I heard heavy footsteps climbing up some stairs, I prepared myself for what was to come.

Little did I know that I was in more trouble than I could've ever imagined.
