It has now been a while since my back healed from the curse.
Life is good.
I don't call the brothers "The brothers" anymore, no, I call them "My brothers". And Rayi too.
They are my family now. I'm not alone anymore.
I unclenched my hand. My knuckles, which had previously been white, gained color again. Blood was rushing back again to give them back their slightly rosy tint.
"Are you spacing out again? What's so interesting about your hand, Faer? Wait, I want to see too!" Rosen rode up behind me on his tall, brown horse.
"Hm? Oh, nothing," I quickly put my hand back on the reins of George, my small white pony. George had the fluffiest mane one could imagine and he was such a gentle and calm soul. He truly was one of the best horses I've ever seen, nevermind his size. Angels come in all shapes and sizes after all.
A small smile was playing on my lips.
We were currently riding through a field of wild, corlorful flowers after Alerus had decided that we all needed a bit of fresh air.
A warm summerbreeze stroked past my cheek. Even though the sun had set long ago, the weather was still perfect. It was the type of perfect where a cozy sweater was just enough to keep you warm - no jacket needed.
An owl was hooting from a lone tree that stood tall amidst the flowers on a small hill. The moon was casting his blue light and the faint shadows across the field.
Everything seemed to be asleep as the flowers had closed their pedals and gone to sleep. It felt like we were the only ones really awake in this world.
I steadied my gaze at the horizon, a small smile playing on my lips.
This is eternity
