22. Truth

'Oh no! Have I provoked satan?' Pete thought

Well, the dinner ended with all kinds of feelings and sensations lingering around turning the romantic air to burning hot.

Car Scene
The ambiance inside the car is quiet, if you listen you could hear the heartbeat of the person thumping so loud that it might burst out of the chest yet that person's face was nonchalantly blank without emotion but his eyes show lots of mix up emotions which can't be identified.

"Pete," the concerned deep voice pulls him back to the present reality, it is Dane's voice

"Are you all right?" Dane

"I'm a fool, ain't I?" Pete

"You are not," Dane, his expression turning soft

"Why not? I believe a liar." Pete said with a self-mocking laugh

"It is not wrong to be a fool," Dane give a short pause and continue sincerely "sometimes"

"What a sarcastic excuse?" Pete

"I believe a liar since," Pete

Flashback
It is a breezy sunny morning, and there is a young elegant figure sitting under a tree and the silhouette flashing holding a book and reading with a bright smile, brighter than that of the Sun.

As he was reading peacefully, there was another built muscle body silhouette blocking him, which made him look up with confusion and a hint of annoyance, he frowns as he calls the person's name

"Dane, what are you doing here?" Pete

It has been many weeks since Pete last saw Dane, it has been quite a worst departure from the last they met as Pete can see the light bruise on his healing face despite the broken past Pete does feel bad.

He got up and ask him with a normal tone but he is worried,

"Have you been better?" Pete

Dane gives a charming smile as he responds "Pretty much. I'm glad you ask me even if you are not worried."

Pete laughed as he said "Don't be dramatic"

After a short pause, he continue "I'm sorry, you know about what had happen it's just, I'm worried, really" Pete said with all sincerity

"Thanks for worrying, I know I don't deserve it," Dane

Pete does not respond with that instead he changes the subject to "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here for you. There is someone I need you to meet" Dane

"Who?" Pete 

"My dad" Dane

"Your dad? Why?" Pete asks in confusion

"You need to meet him. He can answer your question," Dane

"I- " Pete is about to decline as he has some reason to but Dane cut him

"It's about your parent. I think it's time you need to know" Dane

Pete had agreed if it was about something else he would decline but this matter is ways too hard to do so.

After 40 minutes they arrive at a manor but it had ancient age, it seems like it was built in Pete's grandfather's generation but the age can't hide the luxury of this manor, and Pete is amazed by the sight.
