Author's Note:

I have a headcannon that the Projectionist is mute because... how would he be able to talk.

"Who's that?" Sally asked gesturing towards Bendy. "Bendy the Dancing Demon at your service. Pleasure to meet ya Stageplay." Bendy said as he bowed. "Ooh a dancer! Could you show me a few moves?" Sally asked. "'Fraid not Stageplay. I quit the showbiz 'bout two years ago." Bendy stated, regretting that he introduced himself as a dancer. "Why would you ever want to quit preforming? Doesn't being in the spotlight fill you with joy?" Sally asked, confused. "It used to; I'll admit." Bendy said to the lady in front of him.

"What happened if I may ask?" Sally said, trying not to be insensitive. "Just some bad experiences with...producers...is all." Bendy lied so as not to worry anyone, "Besides you already got yourself a co-star." "Two actually." Sally corrected, "My husband hurt his arm and was unable to perform today." "That's rough... Hope the guy gets better." Bendy said, "Ya'know he's lucky to have such a wonderful lady as his wife." "Aww, well aren't you just a little devil darling!" Sally said leaning down.

She knelt down close to Cuphead's ear, "You sure do got yourself a keeper. Ya better take good care of him." Cuphead's face turned a deep crimson as he sputtered with embarrassment. "N-no it's not like that at all!" He said, covering his face. Bendy looked over to the red cup with a small look of confusion mixed with a strange happy feeling. "You alright Toots? You look a bit red." He said as his face was dusted with a light shade of gray. "I'm fine!" Cuphead said louder than he meant to. Bendy chuckled to himself, "You sure Toots?"

"Positive." Cuphead mumbled, growing more nervous as Bendy pestered him more. Sally bent down to Cuphead again, "You're embarrassing yourself in front of your boyfriend~" Sally said in a half-joking manner. "Shut up..." Cuphead groaned. "Hey Stageplay?" Bendy asked, choosing not to embarrass Cuphead further. "Yes?" "Where's the Projectionist? Shouldn't he be backstage with you and Al?" Bendy questioned looking for the man he almost decapitated once. "Oh, he's processing the film right now. He should be coming out soon." Sally explained.

Cuphead allowed himself to calm down, thankful that Bendy changed the subject. He was still embarrassed from what Sally said, though he wasn't exactly sure why. He was zoned out in his own thoughts as Bendy tried to bring him back down to Inkwell. When that didn't work, Bendy did the next best thing and grabbed Cuphead's arm and dragged him across the room where he saw the Projectionist just enter. "Heya Bud!" Bendy said as he waved to the Projectionist. The Projectionist waved back and then pointed at Cuphead.

"Oh him?" Bendy asked. The Projectionist nodded. "This guy with his head in the clouds here is Cuphead. He and his brother Mugman are the ones who rescued me from fire land down below." He started waving his hand in front of Cuphead in another attempt to snap Cuphead back into reality. Cuphead snapped back to earth with a small huff. "There you are. Thought I lost you there for a second Toots." Bendy said. "Oh, yeah, sorry." Cuphead apologized. "It's alright Toots, anyway I want ya to meet my bud Projectionist." Bendy said gesturing to a tall man with a projector for a head.

"Hey." Cuphead said looking at his...lens? The Projectionist waved to Cuphead happily. "So, bud how ya been?" Bendy asked. The Projectionist put a thumbs up and walked out of the room. He shortly came back with a large camera almost the size of his own head. He showed it to Bendy and Cuphead excitedly. "So, I take it you like your new job?" Bendy asked, already knowing the response. The Projectionist nodded his head rapidly. "Ya'know I bet Boris would be delighted to see you. He and Cuphead's brother should be around here somewhere. You should go look for him."

Cuphead shot up at the idea of being alone with Bendy, but he wasn't exactly sure why. Sure, Bendy was nice and all, and nothing like the Devil. And sure, he calls Cuphead nicknames like they've known each other their whole lives, but that was normal...Right? I mean he only met Bendy like two weeks ago and they haven't spent any time alone just the two of them, not like Boris and Mugman at least. But Cuphead couldn't deny he felt nervous around Bendy. That's right hot-headed Cuphead was nervous, but not scared nervous. Almost like he was in... No, he couldn't be. Right?
