"Crap." Cuphead started pacing. "No. No! I can't possibly... There's no way! Just friends. We're just friends. No. I don't..." Cuphead turned to his brother, "...Right...?" "I don't know Cup. It sure sounds like you do." Mugman shrugged. Cuphead's face flushed and his head was bubbling. He noticed this and put his hand over top his head in an attempt to make it stop, which ultimately failed. "This is bad." Cuphead whispered to himself. "Why is it bad? You just realized you're in love. Shouldn't that be a good thing?" Mugman asked hearing his brother's whisper.
"Of course not! First of all, I'm not 'in love' it's just a stupid little crush. Secondly, I have a crush on a Sauce-Box. And thirdly, since I know I have a crush on him now there's no way I'm going to be able to control this!" Cuphead rambled as he pointed at his bubbling head and rosy cheeks. "Hmm, yeah the bubblin' might be a problem, but it hasn't started until now, right?" Mugman asked. "Well...no." Cuphead admitted, "But I didn't know I had a crush on him before!" "Well, try thinkin' about something else."
Cuphead tried, however, "I can't! He's stuck in my brain like a catchy tune!" Cuphead rattled nervously as he began to panic. "Nothing's comin' to mind?" "No! It's crazy!" Cuphead said as his head bubbled faster. "Cup, if we don't head back soon, they're gonna worry 'bout us." Mugman said. "No way! He can't see me like this!" Cuphead said frantically as he sunk to the ground with his back to a tree, tears starting to weld up. "Cup. Come on." Mugman said calmly crouching down to Cuphead's level. Cuphead didn't respond, instead burying his face in his arms.
"Please Cup." Mugman said in a soothing manner. "This is so weird. I've never felt like this before." Cuphead mumbled, his voice muffled under his arms. "You've never had a crush before." Mugman remarked. "That's true..." Cuphead admitted tears now streaming down his face, "Have you ever felt like this?" "Yeah, although most of my previous crushes were a bit more minor. But I felt the same feelings as you are right now." Mugman said recalling his stupid crush on a giant mermaid lady. "But considerin' how much your head is bubblin' you must of fallen real hard."
"Can you blame me. He stayed next to me that entire boat ride despite me feeling terrible, he's been calling me not one but two nicknames. And I know it's only me because he hasn't called anyone else a nickname. I held him bridal style once. And he is just generally the coolest person I've ever met in my entire life." Cuphead rambled as he uncovered his face. "Am I going insane or is he just super charming and awesome and pretty and just downright incredible?" Cuphead said as he wiped the tears from his face "Cup." Mugman started, "I don't think this is just a crush."
"Of course it's just a crush. It's not like I lay awake at night thinking about Bendy. Plus, I haven't known him long enough to be anything other than a crush." Cuphead said defensively. "Whatever you say bro." Mugman said with a bit of skepticism, "The bubblin' went down let's head back." Cuphead nodded and started walking with Mugman towards their home. "Promise you won't tell anyone?" Cuphead asked. "Course bro. Not till you're ready." Mugman said while shoving Cuphead playfully. Cuphead shoved him back, "Thanks bro."
