I stood in front of the mirror in the largest bathroom I had ever seen. It seemed like they had put everything in there, from beauty products to spa bathtubs.

I reached into my old makeup kit for some mascara and eyeliner. Even though they provided me a new one, I preferred mine.

Once I finished, I looked at myself in the mirror. A pair of white high-waisted shorts and an elephant crop top clung to me like a second skin. It was really the only summer clothing I had.

I rubbed my thighs feeling oddly uncomfortable. It wasn't that this clothing wasn't my size but I just didn't look right. I always wore jeans and long sleeve shirts.

My hair was flowing down in curly waves. I always loved my dark chocolate hair, probably the only thing I ever liked about myself besides my eyes. It flowed down to my waist and I hadn't really cut it since I was fifteen. Only light trims for split ends.

I walked back out into the bedroom and went back into my suitcase to grab my favorite pair of blue converse. Since I purchased all my own clothing, I had to pick only one pair of converse because that's all I could afford. I loved these babies since the moment I saw them. They are my go-to pair.

I slipped them on with my lucky pair of socks and felt an instant sense of security knowing they came from home.

It had been two days since I got here and everything was so different, although I hardly left the house. I was glad to have new electronics to distract me. I spent most of the weekend syncing my new phone and setting up my new laptop. I just wasn't ready to go out into this new world.

Where money is no object and kids ran wild. I was so used to taking care of myself that being served breakfast in bed by a maid name Talulah was a bit much.

I decided to stop being a chicken and head downstairs for breakfast. I walked down the staircase and headed for the dining room where Cassi and my father sat drinking coffee and eating fresh fruit and pastries. I gawked at all this food and felt instantly insecure about how much food I want to consume at this moment.

"Good morning!" Cassi smiled, dressed in yet another one of her sundresses. It seemed all she wore were dresses.

"Morning," my father said looking a bit less cheerful. It felt so odd to see him every morning now. Like seeing a ghost.

I nodded in response with a quiet "Morning." I sat down. Cassi being her bubbly self took my plate, started serving me one of everything on the table.

I felt my eyes widen when she placed the huge pile of food in front of me and poured me some orange juice. She just smiled as I began to eat slowly even though I just wanted to shove it all in my mouth at once.

"So," my father addressed. "Today Mitch will drive you to school and then afterwards he will take you to get your own car." I dropped my fork looking up at him.

"I get my own car?" I asked in disbelief. Back home, I walked everywhere. Not even my mom had a car. I mean I could drive, I had my license but I hadn't driven in a while.
