Side Story II

Wei MeiLan is currently in her office when a certain thing slammed to another, startling her.

"A'Qing!"

It was her beloved twin brother, Wei WuXian, who barged in without bothering to knock.

"I'm working,"

"You're always working when you own this facility, why don't you just take a break?"

"I have rest days,"

"Don't fool me, you're still working at your rest day, heck, I know you're working at holidays too so drop that goddamn pen and come with me. And you're not going to decline,"

Wei WuXian took her pen away, cleaned the desk and pulled her out of the chair. "I don't care where we are going, but I'll make sure no one at work will disturb you, wait, I'll message your husband,"

"And what about WangJi?"

"He's actually waiting for us outside,"

Her face went sour. "People will think you guys are too good to be bestfriends than lovers,"

"Well, there's still a stigma of that in our society, if I was a girl, people won't complain. And since we're under some special circumstances, well, they can do whatever they want, we stand still on this what we have. And I'm expecting that you first will complain on this situation,"

Wei MeiLan showed a 'duh' face as she started to stand up. "You're happy with him. I won't stop you on whatever makes you happy, remember that A'Ying. If you want to be a trash taker and you're happy with it, I'm good with that. If you want to wear a tutu dress and dance, I'll provide you clothes and mentor. Just tell me, never go disappearing on us then return like it was nothing and you're not telling anything. I won't force you to do what to do; you have your own mind to decide, just don't make us worry,"

Then another presence came in which startled her. "Mi amor, why are you here?"

Lan XiChen walked towards her and checked her physically. With a sigh of relief, he looked at her.

"I'm glad you're fine,"

"Wha—Wei Ying, what the hell did you sent to my husband?"

"I told him to come over,"

"No, what exactly did you said?"

"Hush, it's fine. I'm sure he has good intentions for asking me to come over," Lan XiChen interrupted them. "I saw my brother waiting at the lobby, are you going to play somewhere?"

"We're planning, actually," Wei WuXian answered. "Then I remembered that you guys are always working and have less time to enjoy, so I sort of barged here to invite both of you!"

Lan XiChen chuckled. "You should have called me,"

"Call you?" Wei WuXian thought. "The almighty CEO of the Lan asking me to call him, nah, I wouldn't dare~"

Wei MeiLan's face looked like she wants to strangle both her husband and brother. "You know what, if you're just gonna talk there forever, I should—"

"We already have a plan, why are you planning one for yourself? Now, we should go so that we reach the place on time,"

"And where are we going?"

"To the top of the mountain!" Wei WuXian answered cheerfully.

"If he's thinking for an adventure without a proper gear, I'm gonna smack his head..."

Wei MeiLan was still thinking hard with the answer her brother gave to her. She never saw a gear for climbing or trekking inside the car, only the clothes and themselves obviously.

Lan XiChen wrapped his arm on her shoulders, "Why don't you just trust them? WangJi is with him, I'm sure he wouldn't let him do impulsive things."

Turns out, they are going to stay in a villa at the mountain near a cliff. Wei MeiLan isn't afraid of heights or edges, but she is worried more of her brother's impulsive actions, doing things that was uncalled for.

The scenery was good; despite of it being on the top of cliff, the nature is literally calling them to have fun and enjoy.

Lan XiChen was calling someone over the phone, probably notifying the company of this unplanned vacation they were both dragged to.

After the call, he walked towards Wei MeiLan and wrapped his arms around her from behind.

"When was the last time you took a vacation, mi amor?" Lan XiChen asked from behind.

"I'm not sure when," She turn around to face him and give back a hug.

"Your brother must've sensed that you need one, thus the barging,"

"I can clear my schedule if he asks, I don't like people coming at my work unless it's business related or emergency," She frowned. "You know that well,"

"Well, he thinks it's an emergency?"

"Bruh, his brain works differently from normal, I wonder if we are indeed related to each other,"

The stay at the villa lasted for one week; all projects and meetings of Lan XiChen were automatically moved to the next week due to this unplanned vacation.

Wei MeiLan managed to persuade her secretary to manage the facility while she's away and give him a raise for one week due to this unexpected holiday.

The other couple was busy sightseeing at the edge of the cliff, but the two of them decided to stay inside and get a literal rest.
