That shut everyone up.

Now, Jin GuangYao is no longer Jin GuangYao.

The name given by his father is no longer his or him.

The name that branded him as a criminal is no longer attached to him.

Wei MeiLan gave him a new family name, and he provided a name for himself.

No one dared to complain about her decision, and even if they do, they can do nothing about it.

Her mouth might be poisonous, but it doesn't mean she's too ruthless.

"Wei ZhuanYi," Wei MeiLan answered. "My name is a resemblance of color, and you change your name to transfer? Literally, transfer? Do you have any other name to use?"

"Well, you transferred me to your lineage, technically," he answered. "Are you being considerate of Jin Ling?"

"Giving you a new surname is a pain already; imagine people might despise their last name because you're using it. My brother has already had a reputation for his unruly behavior, and I know that people despise me for my poisonous mouth, and with you as an additional with deceiving skills, we complete a disaster,"

Ji GuangYao, now Wei ZhuanYi, chuckled. "Now I understand why Second Brother loves you; I thought he was just staying because he owed you or something, but it was a genuine one. Although, I was just wondering, why aren't you still getting married to him? You have known him for more than a decade, Wei WuXian already returned, and all is fixed now,"

"Don't be so lax, Third brother," Wei MeiLan answered. "There is always calm before the storm,"

"What? It's not finished yet?"

"Who the heck do you think is managing the Jin clan? Have you remembered? I'm the temporary leader of that stupid clan. If Jin Ling, isn't your nephew, and my sister didn't ask me to take care of him, I would be staying inside my beloved Valley, just messing around, living peacefully,"

"Alright, I'll take care of the Valley while you're outside, just handle the matters of the Jin clan, I'm sure that there are some elders that want to swallow my nephew," He gave an assurance. "That's why I often handle meetings to make sure that they are on leash, and not do something reckless,"

"You know what, whatever, have this all clan and whatever go mess up. I already help A'Cheng with Lotus Pier and the Jiang clan, Nie HuaiSang with the Nie clan, and now with the Jin clan. I'm not getting compensated for this work! Humans are hard to train! They don't listen, decide and act rashly, get into trouble, and mess around but don't care about consequences! Midnight was a good beast, he listens to my command despite being a wild and untamable animal, to begin with. Then you humans—"

"Fine with that, stop complaining, ok? We do appreciate your work, trying not to interfere with this whole fiasco, saving my life, and providing warnings like a riddle, and information to us when we hunt. It's not an easy work, but you still did those things. Handling paperwork to make sure that nothing is messed up, checking on everyone—"

"If you are starting to use your flowery—"

"I just want to say thank you and you deserve a break from all of this. I thought my role as the chief cultivator and as the head of the Jin clan is already a daunting task, but you, on the other hand, did all of that while managing a Valley full of people who are weaker than a low-level cultivator. I never heard you complain even once,"

"Ah, enough with that," She shooed him away. "Go back to the Valley, I'm sure the elders want to have time with you, I'm really amazed that you were able to get close to them considering they have repulsion with cultivators except me, and the people close to me. Well, considering I brought you over to help them, that might count, but whatever. Just go home and do what you want,"

"Do you always boss people around?"

"Depends,"

He shrugged. "If you have news, tell us right away,"

"Sure~"

Wei ZhuanYi chuckled as he walked out of the temporary office that he gave to Wei MeiLan at the Jin territory.

She sighed at frustration. She had been trying to leave the management of the Yunmeng Jiang clan to Jiang Cheng since he's almost settled in everything for his life.

The Nie clan is also stabilized since Nie Huaisang became Chief cultivator so no one will dare to do something funny with her stares.

The Water Valley will not let go of her, no matter what. The people who lived there loves her so much that they even protested that she doesn't need to left her role to anyone at the Valley they will do everything to make her life easier.

And now she's here at Lanling Jin clan, acting as regent for the young king. Struggling to finish some papers so that she can have some spare time for herself when another presence came inside without knocking.

Sensing it wasn't hostile but nowhere familiar, she spoke.

"Please wait for a bit, I'm still not done with these accursed papers..."

When she looked up, a woman covering her face with a veil from a hat with an aloof yet graceful stature is standing in front of her.

Wearing a white robe that brings mystery together with the barrier from her face, Wei MeiLan got confused from a sudden visit

"I was not aware that the Jin clan has visitors, I would have made sure to welcome you, Esteemed Master," Wei MeiLan stood up and paid respect to the visitor.

"Mei WeiLan. Daughter of my disciple and only child, Cangse Sanren,"

A melodious voice rang in the air, startling her. Wei MeiLan found herself tongue-tied in surprise.

"Ah, I hadn't introduced myself yet. I am known as Baoshan Sanren, your mother's master,"

Wei MeiLan gave a salute as respect to her. "Greetings, grandmother! May I know the purpose of visit?"
