Xichen and Wangji returned to Lan Qiren and Wuxian to see them just casually talking. Wei Wuxian was even so relaxed that he was just sitting there and took a sip of his tea like he was doing just fine. Xichen did not know what to make of it. He was actually expecting the two to be butting heads and making a scene. Wangji, on the other hand, has full confidence and trust in his husband and knows that he will not provoke anyone during serious situations or conversations, especially when he is trying to make amends.

Though, it was not Wei Wuxian who needed to make amends with anyone, but it was the other way around. It was other people who needed to be the ones to make amends. They slander him to no end and Wangji was beyond annoyed by it. Seeing that his uncle was having a calm conversation with Wuxian, made Wangji feel really happy.

"A'Zhan, welcome back," Wuxian said pulling him to sit down beside him.

Wangji smiled, "Mnn, hi A'Ying."

Wuxian giggled as he linked his fingers with Wangji's and let Wangji keep his hand on his lap. Wuxian didn't mind. If others had a problem by their display, it was on them. Wuxian wasn't going to stop being himself and being in love with his husband for a few seconds just to satisfy someone else. He would rather just keep being shameless as always. Wangji loved Wuxian so much for that and even encouraged it quickly often now.

"Xichen, how are you feeling?" Lan Qiren asked as he watched his eldest nephew sit down.

"I am doing okay," Xichen answered as he took a quick glance over at Wuxian and Wangji, "Wangji has been more verbal lately."

"I'm happy for him. Wei Wuxian has been a good influence on him for that," Lan Qiren said and took a drink of his tea.

Wei Wuxian's mouth was almost in the floor as he was shocked to hear Lan Qiren, of all people say something like that. He was always told, especially by Lan Qiren himself, that he was NOT a good influence on Wangji. He was told by his old family in Lotus Pier that he was not a good influence. So to hear someone so strict and prominent as Lan Qiren say that, it made Wei Wuxian want to cry. He hardly ever if at all, heard people say that he was good.

"Grandmaster Lan, I thought lying was forbidden in your sect," Wuxian said.

"I am not lying to you," Lan Qiren said, "and didn't I say to call me Uncle or Shufu?"

"Uh, I don't think I have ever been told that I am a good influence on anyone, but the opposite of that, I have," Wuxian told him, "which makes it hard for me to believe."

"Wei Ying is good," Wangji said, "not a lie."

Wuxian sighed and hung his head back as he tried to keep tears from escaping his eyes, "no...I have killed many in such terrible ways and you say I am good? I caused so much chaos and suffering. Why do you say so?"

"You did not do anything wrong," Wangji said.

"In a war, killing is sometimes, inevitable," Xichen said, "you are not a bad person, Wuxian. You stood up for innocent people, while everyone else accused them of being evil. You did everything you could, even when you could no longer use a sword. No cultivator has ever given up their golden core for someone else. It takes a completely selfless person to give up such a valuable piece of themselves."

Wei Wuxian shook his head, "I'm not. I am not good. I got people killed, people who are so dear to me. My Shijie, her husband, her parents, my son with A'Zhan...everyone I am close to either dies or leaves me at some point. I always feel like it is because I am not good enough and not worthy of being loved or cared for. I have a husband but there are still days where I feel so bad for taking him out of his family home. He may have chosen to follow me but I still be terrible."

Wangji frowned and pulled Wuxian into a hug and let him cry into his shoulder, "Shufu, Huan-Ge, mind if Wei Ying and I go rest in Jingshi? I think Wei Ying needs some time to calm down," Wangji asked.

"It's alright, go ahead," Xichen replied.

Wangji nodded, "thank you," he said and stood up with Wuxian resting him his arms, his face was hidden within Wangji's chest, and he clutched onto Wangji's robes tightly. Wangji then went on his way and carried Wuxian to his old him, Jingshi.

Wangji then sat down on the bed and held Wuxian as close as he possibly could. He didn't ask questions right now, he didn't talk, he just let Wuxian relax into him and calm down. He knows that the two will talk about it later, but at the moment he just wants Wei Wuxian to rest, or cry or whatever he needed. Wangji was there to help him and be his comfort and support.
