Wuxian couldn't sleep. Maybe it was because he was back in his old room of Lotus Pier, or maybe it was because of how busy his mind was being right now. He knows he has to be patient but he wanted answers to questions that he had been asking for a long time now.

Why did his father leave Lotus Pier?

What is his background?

There was also the book of the burial mounds, was it connected to his background?

Wei Wuxian could not get his mind to shut up for a few minutes so he can have some peace. He sighed and turned to his right side. His back facing Wangji. He tried sleeping on that side. Nothing happened. He tossed over to his left side and tried again, and again, nothing happened. Wuxian sighed as he remembered Wangji's comment about genius minds also being a chaotic mess for thoughts.

A thought really echoed through his mind as he had said it earlier, "I lost my son, he was barely three."

Wei Wuxian sat up and placed his face in his hands and a soft sob escaped his throat. He didn't want to wake his husband but he felt that Wangji would wake up soon as he tends to sense Wuxian's discomfort even in his sleep. Wuxian removed his hands and looked at his husband. Lan Wangji was facing him, dressed in his trousers and was bare chested. His arm that was under him, his hands resting under his head for support.

Wei Wuxian smiled slightly as the sight of Wangji sleeping was what eased his mind. Wuxian laid back down and snuggled up close to Wangji's chest. His head pressed against it firmly just so he could hear the soothing sound of Wangji heart beating. It was the most amazing and most beautiful lullaby he had ever heard, as it has lulled him to sleep many of times. Though right now, it was more soothing to him at the moment because it was helping him calm his mind down.

Wuxian felt a hand gently being placed on the back of his head. Fingers gently circled around his scalp and playing through his hair. He felt another hand land on his back and began rubbing his back in soft circles. Wei Wuxian knew that Wangji had felt him move closer to him.

"Lan Zhan?" He whispered, "did I wake you?"

"Felt you were upset," he replied quietly, "it is okay though. I'm glad you woke me. I can soothe you better when I'm awake."

Wuxian turned his head and rested his forehead to Wangji's chest, "thank you, it's just my head is not shutting off. I can't sleep. I'm not like you who can just meditate my thoughts away for a while...what do I do?...Lan Zhan....please help me," he begged as sob broke from him again.

Wangji wrapped his arms more firmly and comfortably around Wuxian, "I am here. If you need to cry, it is okay. It helps as it activates your parasympathetic nervous system, slowing your breathing and heart rate and bringing you relief. It's a way to let out pent up stress."

Wei Wuxian nodded as another sob came out, "I miss him, Lan Zhan...everything I said earlier is ringing through my ears...A'Yuan..."

"I miss him too," Wangji said, "we can do something to remember him by?"

"The rabbits we have, the one he liked, he never named...can we name him?..." Wuxian asked.

"He can be named A'Yuan, in his memory," Wangji said, "our little bunny sanctuary can be named after him. A'Yuan's Rabbit Sanctuary. We can rescue rabbits if they are in need. As he liked play with them and helping them with us."

Wei Wuxian smiled, "I like that...and the radish farm," Wuxian said with a giggled.

Wangji chuckled, "A'Yuan's Radishes," he said.

Wei Wuxian giggled again through his tears, "I like it," he said, "place a sign somewhere that says A'Yuan was planted here."

Wangji chuckled again as he placed a kiss on Wuxian's forehead, "alright."

"I love you so much," Wuxian said, "I don't know what I would do if I ever lost you too."

"I will do everything in my power to make sure that will not happen. I have no intention to ever leave you and that is my promise to you. Just promise me the same. Promise me that you will do what you can to you are always here with me," Wangji said, "we are in this together now. No more will it be just me or just you. It will be us and we, and together."

"I promise," Wuxian said, "I will even seal it with a kiss if you want."

Wangji lifted Wuxian's head by his chin and placed his lips on Wuxian's. That was him and Wuxian sealing the promise with a kiss as Wuxian suggested. Wuxian snuck his arm under Wangji and then wrapped his other arm over him, holding him tightly. Their lips melded together in sync with each other. Wangji could feel the dampness on Wuxian's face from his crying. Wangji slowly pulled away from the kiss and pulled Wuxian back into a cuddling position.

"And I love you too, by the way," Wangji said.

Wuxian giggled, "I know," he said and yawned.

"Are you feeling a bit better?" Wangji asked.

"A little, your heart beat is soothing," Wuxian told him.

"Well, you can continue to listen to it," Wangji told him.

"Mnn, I know, but could you sing for me?" He asked. Wangji smirked and started humming their song Wangxian. Wei Wuxian was soon lulled to sleep by the soothing sound of Wangji's humming and his heart beat.
