sleepless (drabble)

**this is super similar to something else i've wrote but i honestly don't care haha**

i turned the shower off and stepped out, i grabbed the freshly dried towels damiano had brought me off the counter and wrapped it around myself, wrapping another one over my hair,

i heard a knock at the bathroom door, i slowly walked over too it and opened the door, "you don't have to knock bubba," i said, he giggled and walked into the bathroom..

i put on my pajamas and brushed out my hair, damiano stood behind me wrapping his arms around my waist and rocking the both of us,

"dam come on i have to brush my teeth!" i giggled and turned around to face him, giving him a quick peck on the lips before escaping his grasp to brush my teeth, handing him his own toothbrush as well.

"ok 3.. 2.. 1.. go!" i yelped out, we always synced up our teethbrushing like that, i can't remember why it started our why we still do it but it was habit at this point,

i braided my hair and damiano returned to his position behind me, tightly wrapping his arms around my waist..

"mmm.. you smell good.." he yawned..

"well i should hope so.. i took a 45 minute shower!" i giggled and we walked into the bedroom, i clicked my tongue twice, "come on guys get off" i spoke out to our cats and our dog spread out on our bed.

we hopped into bed and i slightly cracked open the window next to our bed, i slid into the middle of the bed to where i found damiano was already laying with open arms waiting for me, he wrapped his arms around me and we fell asleep like that, in the safety and comfort of each others presence.

i woke up super sweaty, still in damiano's arms with a plethora of animals laying around us,

i tried to slowly break damiano's grasp around me, so as not to wake him up but failed miserably,

"why are you leaving?" he whined, rubbing his eyes..

"shh.. i'm just going to change.. i'm really hot.." to this he let go of me and i slowly stood up trying to make my way around our bedroom without turning the lights on, i removed my pajama pants and put on a pair of damiano's boxers, removing my shirt and replacing it with a tank top instead.

i climbed back into bed with damiano and returned to my position in his arms, myself holding two of our cats, ziggy and bidet,

"goodnight bambino.." i yawned and damiano hugged me a little tighter,

"buonanotte bella.." he said rubbing my stomach, a comfort we did for each other.

it had now been half an hour of damiano sleeping peacefully while i stirred and shifted trying to convince myself to fall asleep,

no use.

i reached towards my night table for a couple melatonin but couldn't reach quite far enough due to damiano's holding me,

merda. i thought as i felt damiano shift around a bit and heard him do his raspy little groans he always did when he was waking up..

"what time is it?" he said in a gravelly voice,

"i don't know i guess about 03:00.." i said and grabbed the bottle of melatonin sitting on my night table, i popped a couple pills in my mouth and took a sip of water,

"why aren't you sleeping?" damiano said admitting defeat and sitting up, finally opening his eyes,

"restless i guess.."

"not tired?" he replied

"super tired.. just can't find any peace or sleep.."

"get up." he smirked,

"huh?"

"let's go to the cafe, we'll have midnight breakfast, make the most of this sleepless night.." he said, stepping out of bed and pulling a shirt on,

i got out of bed myself pulling on a pair of sweatpants and putting my shirt back on over my tanktop,

i interlocked my fingers with damiano's as we walked down the street to the cafe, "let's make the most of this sleepless night," and i leaned up to kiss him.
