Ch. 35 - The Jackson Family Multiplies

Percy's POV
I was having a dream that Annabeth was shaking me and yelling in my ear that her water broke and if I didn't get up she would personally roll me off Mount St. Helens.

I then opened my eyes a little. Oh wait it's not a dream. I jumped up and helped her out of bed. I helped her into a chair and ran upstairs to grab the kids.

"Charlie! Zoe! Wake up! Brush your teeth and get downstairs as fast as you can! The baby is coming!" That last sentence got them up. I saw Zoe run by in her Frozen pjs and Charlie in his t-shirt and boxer shorts.

I ran downstairs and got Annabeth in the car. The kids came out and jumped in, still in their pajamas, and I peeled out of the driveway. Annabeth was yelling at me the whole time like,

"GO FASTER PERCY!"

"WHY ARE YOU DRIVING FASTER YOURE GONNA GET A TICKET!"

"IF I HAVE A CAR BABY ITS ALL YOUR FAULT!"

"KIDS COVER YOUR EARS I HAVE A FEW CHOICE WORDS I WOULD LIKE TO SAY TO DADDY!"

I pulled into the hospitable and didn't even park. I had Charlie run in and get a wheelchair and Zoe run up to the desk and get us a room. I told the kids to stand in the lobby and call our friends. I didn't want them in the room while Annabeth was getting settled. She needed some time to cool off. I wheeled Annabeth into the elevator. She leaned up to me and said,

"Hey Seaweed Brain, sorry I'm just kinda stressed out. I know we've been through this twice but this time seems harder some how. I can't put my finger on it though. Anyways, I just want to say I love you and thanks for being there for me through these rough months and days and minutes."

I leaned down and kissed her. "Hey of course I'll be there for you, you're my Wise Girl."

The elevator dinged and I wheeled her out and into the room full of nurses. They pulled her into the bed.

"Alright this will be quick. You guys just made it in time to have some babies."
The nurse said to us.

"Yeah we usually are late..." Annabeth said. "wait a second. You mean babies as in plural babies?" She looked perplexed.

"Yes, babies the plural form. You didn't know you're having twins?" The nurse said confused.

"WERE HAVING TWINS?!" Annabeth and I yelled at the same time.

"Ummmmmm this is awkward...." the nurse said.

"Omigods were having twins," Annabeth said staring at the wall blankly.

"Hey this is great!" I said. "well have 4 kids!"

"4 kids..." She mumbled still staring. then she snapped out of it. "4 kids! Percy we are gonna a full house! We don't have another bedroom!"

"Hey hey hey. Let's worry about that later. For now let's just focus on the present and the fact you're having a baby soon, or two babies soon," I said kissing her head.

She calmed down and I went downstairs to check on the kids.

"Hey guys, how's it going," I said ruffling their hair.

"Hey Daddy! Oh look there's Uncle Grover and Aunt Juniper and there's Violet!" Zoe ran over and gave Violet a huge hug. Violet was a year older than Zoe. She was more like a nymph than a goat. She had long red hair (but no green skin) with long eyelashes and long nails. She was wearing a flowy grey tank top with white shorts and a flower crown in her hair. We said hi to them and we were talking in the lobby until my phone rang. My caller ID says Annabeth so I answered it.

"Hey Beth, are you ok?"

"Hi Mr. Jackson, this is Kate the nurse. Your wife is having her baby like right now and she needs you."

"Thanks Kate the nurse," I said already sprinting. I saw Charlie roll his eyes at me though.

I ran in and say right next to Annabeth. I held her hand and gave her a kiss.

"Hey deep breaths it's all ok. I'm here for you. Stay calm..." I said saying encouraging words.

"Alright, PUSH!" The doctor yelled.

Annabeth pushed and the nurses whisked the baby away. One minute later the doctor yelled push again and they whisked away another baby. I looked at Annabeth and we shared a smile. Charlie, Zoe, Grover, Juniper, and Violet all walked in just as the nurse appeared with two babies: one in a blue blanket and one in a pink blanket.

"Twins?!" They all cried.

Annabeth and I laughed. "yeah I know it's hard to believe," she said.

The nurse handed the baby girl to me and the baby boy to Annabeth.

"Awwwwww," I said staring at her adorable face.

"What are you naming them?" Violet asked.

"Well," I said. "I guess we'll just go with the "just in case" names we had for each gender since someone wouldn't say what gender they would be...or how many of them..."

Annabeth laughed. Yeah that's probably why they were so persistent on that phone call....ok naming!" Annabeth said clapping her hands.

"This little guy is Luke Marlin Jackson," Annabeth said smiling.

"And this cutie pie is Selena Clarisse Jackson." I said smiling as well.

"How'd you pick the names?" Juniper asked. She was always interested considering she was named after her tree.

"Well, actually Percy named the boy," Annabeth started. "It was his idea to name him Luke because he knew how close Luke and I were. And then he named him Marlin because that's Nemo's dad and I wouldn't let him name our child Nemo." Everyone laughed.

"I still personally like Luke Nemo but whatever...." I said. "And than we both named the girl Selena Clarisse because Selena was a real hero on the battle field and just in general. She was kind and nice to everyone, and probably the bravest person I know. We want our daughter, well all our kids, to be like her," I finished.

"Oh and Clarisse wanted us to name a kid after her," Annabeth added in.

After that we let Charlie and Zoe hold them first and then Grover and Juniper and Violet. They left and and it was just our family in the hospitable room. The kids jumped up on the bed.

"Awww our family is perfect," Annabeth said giving each kid a kiss.

"Do I get a kiss?" I asked leaning toward her.

"Ugh, fine." she laughed and gave me a kiss.

We all sat there enjoying each other's company and taking turns holding the twins. Eventually everyone fell asleep and I didn't really feel like leaving Annabeth so I got some cots and we all fell asleep together in the hospitable room.
