I was restless.
I tossed and turned, trying to get my mind to shut off. Even the tiniest noise like an animal rustling- or the wind blowing a leaf, set off my nerves.
After what seemed to be hours of constant repositioning and annoyance twinging through my body- I flopped on my back, huffing.
I knew the solution to my problem- I was just to scared to go through with it.
I looked up at the forest sky, debating whether or not I should get up and go see him.
It reminded me of the times when I was little- when I had to use the bathroom or get some water, but was too scared to. So instead, I would lay wide awake for hours- arguing with myself.
I groaned, leaning my head back. I just had to do it- I just had to rip off the bandaid.
I forced myself up into a sitting position- forgetting momentarily that I had to be silent. I reluctantly got on my feet, feeling as if the universe was pulling me back to the bed.
I shook off my body in an attempt to get rid of my nerves- my legs were already shaking violently from anxiety.
I took a deep breath and started to make my way over to Lo'ak, almost tripping countless times due to my shaky state.
I gulped, playing with my fingers worriedly as I neared my hut.
Lo'ak probably wouldn't even be awake, what was I doing?!
But those certain worries were set aside once I saw him tossing and turning in the bed- huffing constantly, just as I had done. I smiled slightly at his cuteness, quietly stepping in.
I cleared my throat awkwardly, and Lo'ak reacted immediately- shooting up and placing his hand over his knife.
He relaxed when he saw me- sitting tensely, my eyes darting everywhere but him.
"Oh, it's just you," he muttered, taking his hand away from his knife.
What did he mean by that?
"Yeah," I clicked my tongue as he shifted himself under the blankets- now sitting with his arms resting on his knees.
This was so stupid and pointless, "I can leave if you want," I mumbled sadly, turning towards the door.
"No-" he responded quickly and my body tensed. "Stay- please, just stay."
I gulped, nodding my head and spinning back around- my fingernails now digging into the palms of my hands.
Lo'ak scanned my body- noticing my anxious body language. He gestured with his head for me to sit down on the bed, and I hesitantly lowered myself i onto it- still not looking at him.
After a few moments of awkward silence, he spoke up, "Look-" I absentmindedly locked eyes with him, and he froze as he stared into my pupils for the first time in what felt like forever.
I let myself get lost in his emerald green eyes- momentarily forgetting the reason for my coming.
He cleared his throat, looking down. "I didn't kiss Kxitx," he sighed and I dragged my eyes away from his- and his now searched my face. "And I didn't follow you after she made that false statement, because I was too busy yelling at her." He paused for a moment, "She came back looking severely beaten up- like someone had tried to kill her or something. And she made it seem that way too- she was being all dramatic and shit."
"I never even touched her!" I exclaimed, my nails digging deeper into my skin. "She didn't even say a word to me! She just knocked me out then she must've beat herself up or something, I don't know!"
