_____________
Louri’s POV
We got to my favorite restaurant. It's not fancy but the food is amazing and I always have dinner here every time I come home. It's almost like a ritual now. “So Louri, tell me about yourself. From what I have heard from Chris is that you are in the Marines and that you are up for promotion.” Scarlett says after we give the server our orders. “Yeah well I’m not all that interesting. What do you want to know?” I ask as I clasp my hands together on the table. “How about being in the marines that can’t be easy for a woman?” Scarlett questions. “Yeah it’s had some ups and downs. But I really love my job, and it’s been amazing being able to go to different places. I will say L.A. is one of my favorites.” I tell her. “Oh so are you stationed here in L.A?” Scarlett questions genuinely curious. “Yes I am. I am posted here permanently except for when I go on tour, of course.” I explain. “It must be hard being away from your family?” She says, reaching over, placing her hand on top of mine, sending sparks through my body. “Yeah it is, but when Chris is in L.A., he stays at my place. And Ma is flying out here tomorrow and spending the week.” I say to her, to which she nods. We spent the next few hours talking and laughing and getting to know each other. It was nice. We are currently on our way to drop Scarlett off at her house. “Ok what’s my next turn?” I as I look at the street signs. “It’s just around this corner.” Scarlett says. We soon pull into her driveway. “Oh before I forget here’s my number. Give me a call, and maybe we can get coffee sometime.” Scarlett says, putting her number into my phone. “Yeah. That sounds good.” I reply with a smile. Scarlett gets out of the car, and I watch as she waves goodbye from her doorway before closing the door behind her. Chris gets into the passenger's seat before we head to my place. It’s not big but it’s home. “Alright I’m exhausted. Chris, good night I’ll see you in the morning.” I say as I carry my bags to my room. “Goodnight sis it’s good to have you back.” Chris says as he goes to his room. Ah it’s good to be home, I think to myself as I flop down onto my bed and get under the covers and let sleep consume me.
_______________
I wake up to my alarm blaring. “Lor turn that off, it's six o'clock!” Chris screams through my door. “Fuck off!” I scream back as I turn off the alarm. I get out of bed and do my morning routine before I leave my room. I look through Chris’s open door to find that he went back to bed. So I go right up to the foot of the bed and yank the blankets off as I yell. “CHRISSY WAKE UP!!” Making him shriek. “WHAT THE FUCK!!” Is his response. “Don’t yell at me young man.” I joke. “I’m your older brother.” He says rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. “Get up. How are you this lazy?” I ask as he tries to go back to sleep. “It’s 6 in the morning how do you have energy?” He fires back. “Because I’m a marine dumbass. I’m used to waking up at 4 in the morning and sleeping in till 6 is a luxury.”  I deadpan. “Good point. Now give me my blankets back so I can go back to sleep.” He says. “No get your lazy ass up and I bought these blankets so technically they are mine.” I reply. “Seriously Louri. I’m tired.” He whines clutching his pillow. “And I get shot at for a living. Now get your lazy ass up.” I say in my marine tone. “Ok ok I’m getting up.” He says giving in. After a little bit Chris energies from his room. “Do you want me to drive you to set later before I pick Ma up from the airport?” I ask as he makes himself a cup of coffee. “Yeah that would be great thanks.” He replies sleepily.  “Oh and please don’t pull the ‘I get shot at for a living’ thing on Ma it might give her a heart attack.” He says looking up from his coffee. “Yeah that’s probably a good idea.” I agree.
