Ellie Richards

I could never quite comprehend why life seemed to throw me tribulations whenever I went. I wasn't a bad person or at least I didn't think I was one. When the goddess thew me a mate that didn't want me, I simply accepted how things were meant to be. When I was rejected, I had a lot of time to analyse and understand my situation, each if two people were connected by a mate bond it didn't necessarily mean that you would that you would love each other or be happy with one another. I believed that the mate bond was something that pointed you in the right direction of someone who could make you happy. The mate bond alone was not something that you could rely on to maintain the relationship. Relationships had to be cultivated.

Thomas never even attempted to develop a friendship with me, let alone a relationship. So why waste time on someone that didn't want to give me a chance. I couldn't help but shake my head in dismay. I couldn't help but fill irritated and annoyed at everything that was happening. When my mate rejected me, I walked away with the bit of dignity I had left. Yet, now I have to stay in some love-shack in the middle of Italy.

I sighed deeply, breathing in the Italian air as it gently whistled around me. The breeze was cool and quite refreshing which was a contrast to it's usual climate. I could understand why the Elder's would send two quarrelling rejected mates here, it was too romantic for it's own good. I couldn't help but think back to Seth and how much he would like it here. We spoke about the places that we would travel together and our first stop was Italy. The bitterness in my heart only got heavier. I was meant to share my first trip abroad with him but that's been ruined.

"What you doing out there?" A voice called from behind.

I didn't have to turn around to know who it was. The smell of pine and mint was entangled in some mysterious relationship that only caused my nose to flare as the exotic smell created butterflies in my stomach. Again, my wolf stirred with temptation. She wanted to encase herself with the scent but that moment passed when she realised that it was him. The wolf that betrayed her heart. I was thankful that she wasn't making things difficult for me.

"Just thinking. Enjoying the scenery." I nonchalantly replied. I was hoping my short responses would deter him from staying longer but the man was stubborn and still occupied one of the empty seats.

"Italy's beautiful isn't?" He said with a questioning tone, my eyes flickered towards him briefly as I watched him stare out into the horizon.

"It is. You been here before?" I replied.

"Yes, I went on a trip here with Lun-" He flinched as he realised what he was saying. I could sense he was hesitant to mention his chosen Luna. I couldn't help but chuckle at his behaviour. Since when did he start caring about my feelings, he certainly didn't when he chose his fake mate over his predestined one. There was nothing between us anymore. The only thing that tied us together died a long time ago.

I held my hand up for him to stop talking. "Please Alpha Thomas, you don't have to mince your words around me. I know you have probably been to many wonderful places with your chosen mate. So please don't hold back on my account, we don't owe each other anything."

"Ellie.." The way he said my name was like tasting honey for the first time. It was sweet and smooth; it was delectable. However, that was short-lived as I felt a bitterness build within me.

"Please don't call me that. If anything it's Eleanor to you." I explained with pursed lips.

"Eleanor, do you think that you would ever forgive me? Do you think that you could give me a chance to show you that I could be a mate that you deserved?" Thomas pleaded, his aquamarine were bright and twinkling.
