"This... is not a tragedy. This was not an accident." A woman's voice played over the announcer's speakers.

"Shut up."

The boy sat in the maintenance hallway. His nose broken, his lip busted, and his entire body aching.
The speech that the woman was making over the intercom had been drowned out by the ringing in Saffron's ears. He remained motionless, pondering his next step. Something was clearly going on, and he couldn't just be stuck in this empty corridor while that happened.

No time like the present, the boy thought to himself.

He closed his eyes, one of which had already nearly shut on account of how swollen it was.
He searched inside his conscience, he found the deformed knot dwelling inside of himself and began to unravel it.
Saffron immediately lost track of time. All notion of the outside world vanished as he focused completely on his inner energies.

While Saffron was borderline-unconscious, Amity Colosseum and Beacon were suffering from an onslaught of Grimm, which had infiltrated the campus after the woman's speech over the speakers.
The Grimm were carried up to the floating arena by carriers, and had been wreaking havoc while the Hunters, both in training and not, fought to defend those without weapons.
Eventually the civilians had all been evacuated, being brought via carrier to Vale, where several bunkers were placed in case of emergencies-- Also known as the situation currently at hand.

Below the sky arena, the City of Vale was being overtaken by the creatures of Grimm. Not only the common Beowolf, Ursa, or even Boarbatusk. No, there were Griffons, Grimm that had the head, wings, and talons of a hawk, and the body of a large predatory cat. Even some large elephant-like Goliaths were infiltrating the city.
Luckily, the majority were being taken down by Professor Glynda Goodwitch, and a drunken Huntsman.

The two hunters were assisted by the robot army brought into the Kingdom of Vale by Atlas' General Ironwood.
The Atlesian Knights all grouped up to take down each individual Grimm, as on their own they weren't as effective as Huntsmen.

It wasn't long after the effort to fight back had hit full-force when the White Fang showed up, armed with weapons they invaded Vale, with Beacon as their main target. Many did not know why the White Fang would target Beacon, a school of which many Faunus attend, but the reasoning no longer mattered. The only thing that mattered was how they would survive.

The Campus of Beacon had been ravaged, by Grimm and White Fang alike.
Luckily the students and Hunters had the Atlesian Knights on their side, lessening the burden... until a red glow emanated from the screens embedded in their heads and they turned their guns on their allies.
In an instant, the Hunters now had an additional force to worry about. The army brought into Vale by General Ironwood now fought against them.
This not only included the countless Atlesian Knights, but the huge mech suits that were the upgraded version of the mech that Saffron and Team RWBY had fought so many weeks ago.

Speaking of Team RWBY, they had been split up. Ruby was engaged in a battle on a flying carrier against Roman Torchwick and his lackey.
Weiss had teamed up with some notable students such as Coco, Neptune and Velvet, to take down a mech.
Blake had found herself by the cafeteria while looking for Yang. Instead she had found her old partner, Adam Taurus, the one leading the White Fang into this battle.
Yang joined up with Weiss very briefly before searching for Blake.

The fight grew more chaotic as the White Fang gained more ground upon the Beacon campus.
One specific soldier of the White Fang had cornered a small group of weaponless students.
His rifle was pointed at them, flicking between each head in the group held against the corner. The teenagers' whimpers and cries only filling the soldier's head with noise.
