"It was weird," Theo told the others while they were waiting. "She didn't seem quite like how I thought."

"Yeah, it was different." Qrow was still puzzled. "What do you think, Oz?"

"I can't account for it at all." Ozpin looked quite puzzled. "But the last part was certainly a threat. She's going to do something dreadful."

It was funny that right after he said that Wally, Shine, and the two others returned.

"I think that went well," Shine said at once.

"I think so," Wally agreed.

"I don't see how it could have gone better," Pyrrha  mused. "Though she is... quite something else in person."

"She was smaller than I thought though." Roman brushed himself off. "I wasn't scared at all."

"BS." Cinder apparently just liked pissing him off.

[She has a problem with doing this with men, I notice.]

"What part of that sounded like it went well to you?" Ozpin said. "She is the same as she ever was. She said she'd do anything to get what she wanted."

"She did say that," Qrow said.

"Those were her exact words?" Shine said.

"Yeah." Theo rubbed his neck. "Can you guys wake Vara up?"

[You know, this coma thing is probably a reference to her fairytale being Sleeping Beauty as well as the cyclone from Oz. That's why the whole pricked and passing out thing is part of her Semblance.]

"Well, wait a minute, what about Salem?" Raven said. "Are we doomed or not?"

"I'd say not," Shine said. "I think this is working. But it wouldn't be polite to talk about it when she might be listening."

The Seer was still there, though Salem wasn't in it, so it might have been off.

One of the kids promptly killed it anyway.

Shine and Wally looked over Vara but couldn't do anything to wake her.

"Maybe she just needs rest..." Wally hoped.

"She needs the curse gone." Shine folded her arms. "Can't happen too soon."

"Uh... about that," Oscar said. "Salem said something... Oz doesn't want to talk about it, but I think you all should know..."

He told them.

"You're going to die?" Weiss squeaked.

"Maybe," Theo said.

"Maybe?!" Ruby cried.

"Either that or Ozpin," Yang said. "Well, just get him out right now. You can, right?"

"At this juncture," Shine said, "it would be best to wait for Salem's decision."

"Hang Salem," Meridian said. "The lad has suffered enough. Why should it be her decision?"

"Forgive me," Shine said, "but it was Ozpin who tied himself to her to begin with. I think we can at least give her a chance."

"Not according to Ozpin, and he's known Salem longer than you," Jaune pointed out. "She could be lying to you."

"How could she lie to me when she didn't say anything that would be a lie or a truth?" Shine said. "She just said to let her think about it for another day."

"Well, even that could be a trick," Qrow said.

Winter gave him a glare.

"What?" he said.
