Ever wondered how the characters from the canon story would react to their fanfic counterparts?
Well, this part is for you.
And yes, I have officially titled this fanfic universe the "Chompverse"
Cause, y'know, all the damn chomping.
Prime/canon characters will have brackets [] around their name.
In each round, we'll have each character meet their canon counterpart, with (Y/N) thrown in to add some drama.

ROUND ONE: Denji and [Denji] (+(Y/N))

Denji stood face to face with [Denji], staring down their carbon copy. (Y/N) stood nervously by his version of the blonde.
"Who the fuck is that dude?" [Denji] asked, pointing at (Y/N).
"Um, our best friend? Our mega-best buddy who's been there for us every step of the way???" Denji said, expecting [Denji] to miraculously recognize him.
...
"Just looks like some hobo to me." [Denji] grunted.
"W-Wha-"
"What the hell makes you think he's a hobo!?" Denji yelled.
"The shitty haircut."
(Y/N) visibly jerked as the weight of that insult slammed into him, crumpling to his knees.
"DON'T INSULT OUR FRIEND, JACKASS!!!" Denji yelled, balling a fist.
"What makes him so special, anyway?" [Denji] asked.
Denji gritted his teeth.
"HE'S THE FUCKING COOLEST!!! HE GAVE US SUPER GOOD ADVICE, HE TOOK CARE OF US, HE FOUGHT ALONGSIDE US, HELL, HE FUCKING DIED FOR US!!!" Denji yelled.
...
"I'm not seeing it..." [Denji] muttered.
Everything this dude said made (Y/N) feel worse.
"He told me that the best way to enjoy boobs was with the boobs of a person that loved me." Denji began.
"He told me that I had a heart when I was feeling shitty."
"He helped me through my heartbreak after Reze."
"He held me up when I felt like shit."
"He gave me hugs when I felt like the loneliest person on the fuckin' planet."
"He is my best friend."
[Denji] stared into Denji's conviction-laced eyes, a slightly puzzled look on his face. He slowly turned to (Y/N).
"You did all of that for him?" [Denji] asked.

(Y/N) nodded.
"Why...?" [Denji] asked. "What was in it for you?"

"You're my best friend, Denji..."
(Y/N) said.
"That's the only reason I need." (Y/N) smiled.
