A couple of days passed and thankfully no sign of Ray, Kim was at her apartment waiting for the delivery of her box spring and mattress. Adam was at the truck bringing the new television up, he insisted on doing it by himself.

She could hear him as he came down the hall, he kicked on the door with his foot, "I told you I would have helped you" she told him when he finally set the television on the entertainment center in her room.

"Let me get you a beer" she said as she went to the fridge, and grabbed one for him.

"Shit" he muttered when his cell phone buzzed in his pocket "we just landed a crime scene" he said as he shoved the phone in his back pocket "will you be okay"

"Yes Adam, go" she said, "once my bed gets here I will go back to your place, just be careful" she told him.

"Always" he smiled as he walked out.

Ray watched as Adam got in his truck, this was way too simple. He needed to thank that tech wiz he found, it was so easy to send fake text messages. He knew he had to beat the pretty boy to the 'crime scene' if his plan would work. Luckily he knew a shortcut and was in place a few before Adam.

Adam thought it was odd when he didn't see anyone from intelligence, he headed into the house it was obviously used by squatters, boxes everywhere "what the hell?" He said to himself, something wasn't right.

He went into one of the bedrooms, a dirty mattress on the floor a crack pipe beside it Adam squatted and pulled on a latex glove and went to pick it up when he heard footsteps behind, he turned expecting to see someone from intelligence.

"Hey pretty boy!" Ray said as he hit Adam in the temple with the butt of his gun, Adam dropping like a ton of bricks his head making a god awful sound when it bounced on the concrete floor.

Ray quickly cuffed him, and dragged him out the back door and into the back of the sedan.

"Time for some fun, Kim" he uttered as slammed the door "don't say I didn't warn you"

He took off and headed to Adam's apartment, his would be easier to get in without being noticed. Adam's unit was on the ground floor and at the back almost hidden due to the surrounding brush.

All that was left was to get Kim to Adam's and all that would take was a simple text message.
