Chapter 21

"Thanks Aaron" Ray said as he was finally released, he,couldn't help but grin at the detectives as he walked out. "I guess it's true what they say, money talks, eh?" he said.

"Yea, well don't get too excited, we still have the extradition hearing to get through this was just for hiring a hit man, and please remember your out on bail, don't leave Detroit" he was stern with him "I mean it Ray"

"Sure, sure" Ray laughed "I won't go anywhere"

Adam woke up to what sounded like someone crying, Kim's side of the bed empty. He got out of bed cursing as the pain screamed through his leg as soon as he put his weight on it.

"Hey, what's wrong?" he asked Kim when he saw her sitting on the bathroom floor crying "come here" he said.

"I'm okay" Kim said as she went to Adam "I promise, it's just hard" she told him "I just keep thinking about what Ray did, and almost losing you" she told him.

"I'm not going anywhere" he told her "and you didn't deserve any of what he did to you, none of it was your fault"

"It doesn't make sense I know, but I feel like I should have stopped him, that I shouldn't have allowed him to hurt me" Kim said taking a tissue from Adam.

"Listen to me, Ray Thompson is a piece of shit, he's the only one responsible for what he did to you" Adam said it killed him that she felt like she should have done more to stop Ray "he better hope they lock him up, because if I get the chance I'm going to make sure he never hurts you again"

AUTHORS NOTE:

You can go ahead and say it, this chapter sucks! I've spent the better part of this rainy day writing and re-writing and re-writing it again. I'm stopping with this version, and will try and make the next chapter better, and I won't post it until I have a couple written.

I need to get past the writers block, and it's not happening fast enough.
