Methodist Hospital
7:30pm

Von felt disoriented as he slowly began to stir from his coma-induced sleep. It was as if he had been submerged in deep waters for what felt like an eternity.

As his eyes slowly opened, he tried to assess his surroundings, but nothing seemed familiar. It was then that the panic set in, causing the machines to detect a sudden increase in his heart rate.

He blinked his eyes repeatedly trying to wash out the blurriness due to his eyes being shut for so long.

As he looked around the room, his eyes landed on Milayana who was sitting in the corner with her head in her lap. He wondered how long she had been there waiting for him to wake up.

And then he suddenly felt a jarring shift in time that signaled the onset of a memory. It was disorienting, like being caught in a whirlwind.

The last thing he remembered was lying on a gurney, surrounded by doctors and nurses.

The realization of being in a coma hit him like a ton of bricks, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of fear.

It was a horrible experience, but the worst part of it all was feeling helpless and frustrated. It was agonizing being unable to respond to his loved ones as they held his hand and spoke to him.

Every fiber of his being wanted to scream out and let them know he was there, but instead, he was forced to remain silent, trapped within his own mind.

It was a memory that he couldn't shake, and one that filled him with a sense of frustration even now.

As he fought to speak, his voice came out raspy and ragged. It was as if he had been holding his breath for an impossibly long time.

He coughed, his body jerked as he tried to expel the stale air from his lungs.

Milayana's heart skipped a beat as she slowly lifted her head from her lap. Finally laying eyes on the person she had missed dearly for weeks.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she slowly stood up walking over to the hospital bed, still in disbelief that she was finally reunited with her soulmate.

As he laid there, his mind still hazy from the coma he had just awoken from, he couldn't help but feel a sense of confusion wash over him. Everything around him seemed different, almost as if he had been transported to a different time.

He couldn't comprehend how much time had passed since he had slipped into a coma and he was unsure if he was dreaming.

The fear and anxiety in her eyes gave him a clue that he had been gone for a while.
