TW: eating disorders, depression, narcissistic mother, cancer, death, sibling/child death, drowning

Let's start from the very beginning. Hi my name is Y/N L/N and I'm autistic. From a young age the signs were difficult to see. I was smart and functional. Of course I didn't like change and threw the occasional tantrum and refused to change out of my Spider-Man costume for a week. None the less I was normal. I read at my grade level and I did good in school.

When I was 8 my brother died and then not even a few hours later my dad died. What made everything worse was that it was my fault Ethen died.

I woke up at 5:05 AM like I did every day so I could watch cartoons with my dad while eating chocolate chips that my mom would never let me eat.

Following the step by step routine I went to the kitchen where I usually meet my dad, but instead of the matching looney tunes pjs he was fully dressed. He noticed me and put a small smile on his face. Dad picked me up and kissed both of my cheeks.

Dad: I'm sorry kid. I'm gonna have to skip our morning tradition.

Young Y/N: awww but whyyy?

Dad: I have to go get my medicine, Sweets. You know how I get really sick if I don't take them.

Young Y/N: I'll miss you.

Dad: I know kid. I'll miss you too. Will you be good to mom for me?

Young Y/N: I don't wanna go with mom. She always makes me eat those nasty green smoothies.

Dad: how about this? I'll bring you a chocolate bar and we can eat it together tonight when mama goes to bed ok?

Young Y/N: ok love you!

Dad: love you more!

Young Y/N: I love you to the moon and back! Every day the heart creates enough energy to drive a truck 20 miles. During your whole life time 20 miles everyday is equivalent to driving to the moon and back, so that means I love you with all of the blood my heart pumps in my whole lifetime!

Dad: woww. That's a lot, Sweets. Where did you learn that?

Young Y/N: I saw it in a magazine once.

Dad: you are so smart! I have to go now but I love you to the moon and back!

Young Y/N: I love you!

Little did I know then that I would never get that chocolate bar or see my dad alive again.

Ethen and I were twins. I was the oldest by five minutes. Ethan always got the privileges that I didn't. He was allowed to snack and eat anything while my meals were limited.

Usually every morning at 10:15 AM Ethan would wake up and we would go outside to play. Our day was going normally until I went inside to get a toy. When I came back Ethen was laying face down in the pool.

I remember screaming for my mom and she called 911 while pulling him out of the water. Five paramedics swarmed around his lifeless pale body. We were in the hospital when my mom got a call saying that my dad collapsed and is now in the hospital.

It only takes 5 hours to change a person's life. My mom got the news that my brother died and that father collapsed. I remember everything in slow motion. My mother hysterically crying and then we went to my dad's hospital room. 5 hours is all that it took.

5:55 PM. My dad flatlined and never regained normal vital signs. It was me and my mom now. Also known as nobody that could keep me safe anymore.

Year and years of constant mental torture. My mothers voice rang in my head as I would do sit-ups after every meal. My mind would fill with anger and I would do 5 sets of 55 every night and morning. It hurt like hell but eventually I was just used to it.

I was at a competition in Berlin. I met Kate Laswell at a cafe. The first time she talked to me it was 6:15 in the afternoon, and when I saw a marine advertisement it was 7:50. I had 5 missed calls from my mom and that's when I decided to join.

I went back home to Denver and joined as soon as we landed. I was shipped off that next day. I never once looked back or regretted it.

Carlos: that doesn't answer my question.

Y/N: what was the question again?

Carlos: what do you need these wires for?

Y/N: oh! A bomb.

I watched my cell mates eyes go wide. He handed me the wires and I started pacing my cell. I held a few wires in my mouth as I started putting things together.

5 weeks. I've been here five weeks. I have a small baby bump now. I'm officially 8 weeks pregnant.

My cell is only about five paces from wall to wall. I connected the wires and and very different collected items from soldier uniforms and some chemicals from the janitor that comes around every now and then.

When I finish I look at my work carefully. I inspect the durability and effectiveness. It wasn't the best field made bomb but it'll get me and Carlos out of this cell.

Carlos: did you really just make a bomb in a matter minutes?

Y/N: yeah I did. It's not the best but it'll get us out.

Carlos: really?

Y/N: I meant it when I said I was going to get you back to your family. You have a little girl at home who I'm sure can't wait to meet you.

Carlos: you need to get back to your family as well. You have a baby and what your doing is dangerous. I'm grateful but also worried.

Y/N: I'm a survivor Carlos.

I rig up the bomb to the cells doors and breath calmly. I go to my mattress and grab a small piece of metal from up under it. I spark it and move to the back of the room with Carlos.

BAM!
