"she poisoned my kid"

Amelia's POV
today is not my day and everything is making me stress out. "am i interrupting?" bailey asked as she stepped into my office to find me both at the same time putting on clothes and quickly brushing my teeth. "sorry, i ran out of toothpaste at the hotel so on my way here i got some and then the kids wanted to stay with me but i have surgery, so you know it's been a day already" i explained cleaning up

"sorry to hear that you're still at a hotel" she said and i nodded because mouth was full of water "eww" she said as i spit into the cup "i know but what can i do for you?" i asked "have you thought more about the clinic and Alzheimer's treatment with Meredith because she has been wanting to know and i also would like you to show at my clinic" she asked but to be completely honest no i haven't because lately i have been so stressed out to the max. "you want my honest answer on work right now?" i asked

"hit me" she said "i come to work so i can get out of my thoughts about my wife and help my kids and as of right now i have no decisions made" i said "riley? she could help out at the clinic" she said smiling "ahh you're crazy" i said laughing hearing a knock through all the laughter "come in" i said not looking up yet "hi oh? i hope im not interrupting" it was my wife holding something in her hands and she had her scrubs on and lab coat so im guessing she's back and no one bothered to tell me.

"i brought you something special it's cake" she said and the silence was very loud and just awkward. she was all smiling and happy "ok? it's not as appealing but i hope you like it" she said i was trying to make zero eye contact but bailey was smiling "it looks delicious sloan" bailey said which just caught me off guard "wha- you can't just storm in here with cake alondra, you just can't" i said but she had that freaky sloan smirk on her face, not to mention that was very gay of her to bake a cake "i can, so i did because i love you and now im leaving" she said walking backwards out the door.

bailey turned to look at me "what?" i said "eat the cake" she said i groaned sitting down on my chair
"you're having one of those days you said, and the woman you love just brought you cake and made it herself" she said which made me smile a little because that was very cute "and even though you're still angry enough to live in a hotel, eat food that takes like heartbreak, eat the cake your wife brought you" she said "it might just turn your whole day around" she said then came in text after text in her phone meaning she had to go.

time passed. we ate the cake meaning as in me and riley. "feeling better?" bailey said and she saw riley on my side giving her a little smile "no" i said shaking my head "i couldn't enjoy it" i said and she walked up more "i was thinking and i can't, it would take my time away from sloan and the kids, but right now it's not even me and her" i explained "well she seems to be trying to make time for you now" bailey said looking at my expression

"but bailey she told me to leave, she was the one who said we were over" i said standing up looking out the window because i could feel tears starting to fall down "ok i dont think that you and ally are over, i mean heck you two were considering stealing a baby and running away together" she said but i couldn't say no more "ben and i, we have been through it all. there was a time when we were even separated not like you and ally now. two weaker hearts would haven't survived it, but ben and i did" she said making me smile just a bit giving me hope "and we came out in the other side stronger than ever" she said with a little bit of passion at the end. "you and ally will get through this" she said wiping the tears falling down

"if you wanna get through it" she said softly and quietly and we both heard a loud groan "you okay ry?" i asked the teenager next to me "all of a sudden my stomach is feeling" and before she could even get more words out she ran to the bathroom. bailey went over to the cake and smelled it a little "oh no, that is not right" she said throwing it in the trash "she poisoned my kid" i said running into the bathroom.

it was in fact food poisoning that riley has which is crazy because i have yet to get it but it seemed to hit riley first. i hear a knock at the door and she starts groaning "im sorry, i don't know who could possibly be coming right now" i said removing her slowly off my lap onto the bed as i went to go
answer the door. i open it and it's ally "i heard that riley is sick so i brought some fluids to help you" and i could hear running footsteps in the bathroom. she was throwing up "go away!" she said "we aren't just going to leave you like this" i said through the door because she wouldn't open it.

"yes you can" she said i could hear her breathing
she was definitely sick "if you just open the door" ally said this was the first in months we have been this close to each other "im not letting you in" riley said and we just looked at each other because she's being very stubborn but this is also the first time she has seen ally. "im tired, and seeing you both is making me wanna cry because i miss you" she said "yes i understand that but me and momma need to look at you" i said "no you two" she stopped and continued throwing up "need to talk because i miss my moms" riley finished her last words.

i crossed my arms just looking at her "you're back at work" i said leaning against the wall "i am but we need to talk otherwise i don't see how we're gonna survive this" she said "why? so you can check this off your list as another things you fix in your life" i said walking towards the bed to get some air away from her "after you made up with everyone and got back to working the only thing left is for me to forget about everything and come back home, it's not gonna happen, nope not alondra" i said laying down on the bed.

she heard some crying and shuffles around "riley?" she said but no answer "riley!" i said getting up this time walking to the bathroom door which is still not open "im so cold" we finally heard along with some tears and crying "can you please bring me some blanket" she asked and we gave each other a look and grab her a blanket and walked in. ally set down the bag as i wrapped the blanket around the
teenager and she just looked at us. she missed it. i wiped the tears falling off her cheeks.

she was still throwing up. "aren't you supposed to be at work" she asked us "we're at work" we both spoke at the same time "this could be a catastrophe vomiting over and over" ally said "a catastrophe where you can't bake without mom" riley said laying her head on the toilet seat "let's not do that bubs" i said taking her head and placing it on my chest. we slowly rubbed her face and back until she fell asleep.

"how do you even mess up cake" i asked her trying to keep the awkwardness out "i don't know i thought i followed the steps right but i guess not" she said pushing the hair out riley's face. i turned back to give her a little smile laying my back against her now "thank you for coming" i said "thank you for letting me in" she said and we heard her phone. "you have to go" i whispered so we didn't wake up the sleeping teenager "I'll stay" she said putting her phone back.

"ally" i said "no, our daughter is sick and could be dehydrated or she could be even more sicker than we know as of now, i don't" then she just stopped midway "what?" i said leaning back against her more to readjust as i was doing so we made eye contact "im afraid if i walk out that door that won't know when I'll see you again, or riley and chris" she
said "hey, you will" i whispered leaning my head against her forehead "im going to check in a few hours and let you know how she's feeling and myself" i said looking at her "don't cry" i said wiping the one tear off her cheek and she placed a kiss on my forehead.

we sat there for what felt like forever but it was the best time ever and she didn't let go of me and we just sat in silence but it was good silence.
