A BREAK had already been needed for Alec and his friends since starting a new semester at USC. It was as if teachers thought the students would be lazy this year due to having spent so long going to class through Zoom that they pushed them even more in person. So this put a lot of stress and pressure on Alec and his friends their first few weeks back.
To relax a bit and surprise his friends, JJ decided to rent a beach house for the weekend. It was a nice house that overlooked the ocean and was big enough for them all to have their own rooms. So, Friday afternoon, when everyone was done with classes, they packed a bag and went to the beach house. Alec, May, JJ, and Sieu met up with Jeremiah and Roxy as they pulled up, gasping at the house.
"JJ, I can't believe you did this," May said, shaking her head.
"It's the least I could do." JJ shrugged.
"How did you afford this? I mean I know your parents are rich but damn." Sieu wondered.
"Well, we can actually thank my parents for this," JJ said, gaining his friend's attention as he smiled. "I figured they owed me something for ignoring me all my life."
"You have a weird sense of humor, JJ," Alec said, and the others nodded.
"You call it weird, but I call it coping. Now let's get inside." JJ said, heading to unlock the front door.
"Yeah," Roxy shouted, making them all laugh.
Inside, the group was even more in awe of the house. Everything was perfect for a pleasant and relaxing weekend with friends, from the giant kitchen to the floor-to-ceiling glass windows that overlooked the beach. The group toured the place before picking their rooms and settling in.
