Alejandro and May have finally gotten together.
May had finally had enough of Darius and the mental abuse he had over her. With the help of Alec, who she finally confided in about her problems with Darius, they told her mom Athena. Then, with Athena as support, as well as her father, Michael, and stepfather, Bobby, May finally had the courage to break up with Darius.
May was done with his control over her since the start of their relationship.
But the scares he left still affected May more than she cared to admit.

After therapy and some time alone to learn to love herself again, May was ready to date again.
Seeing that May had been happier since breaking up with Darius and going to therapy, he finally confessed his feelings. He couldn't keep them in any more, not after hanging out together, just the two of them.
It was meant to be a group outing, but the others canceled at the last minute because 'something came up,' but Alec knew it was a lie. He knew his friends were giving them space to finally confess their feelings to each other, which they did.
As Alec and May sat together at a gelato spot, he couldn't help but stare at May, smiling, seeing how much happier and relaxed she now looked.
Then, without thinking, Alec blurted out that he loved her, stunning them both.

Alec thought he was truly blessed to have finally gotten with May and knew he'd never take it or her for granted like Darius.
May had loved being with Alec, finding herself comparing just how much of a better boyfriend Alec was than Darius was.
