Chapter 45: Sneaky Fights

[Luigi's POV]

Bowser set a timer at 10 a.m., which woke me up. He didn't even wake up himself! The worst part was that he was holding me against himself. Not that it's a bad thing, but right now, it is. I still have a headache from last night. What did we even do? Better hope we didn't do anything too weird.

It took a long time until Bowser finally woke up. "Damn, if a headache could kill, I would be dead right now." After he said that, he saw that I was still in his arms. "Oh, good morning, cutie." His smile grew when he said that.

I mumbled a soft good morning, which he heard, but he acted like he didn't. So I spoke up a little more, "Good morning." He laughed and held me even tighter against him. "Not even a nickname?"

He held me less tight again. I sighed, "Good morning, Bowsie." He chuckled in reply before turning a little more serious. "The hell did we even do last night? We were supposed to be back at my castle already."

"I don't remember either." Our little chat got interrupted by Mario opening the door. "Whoopsies, I should've knocked. Anyways, Good-a-morning you two! Hope you don't have too bad of a headache from last night. You two were near the drunkest of the party."

He laughed, but Bowser seemed more annoyed than amused. "Why are we still here? Did you do something to Kamek!?"

Bowser put me down, got up, and seemed to try and threaten Mario. "Calm down-a big guy! I did nothing to Kamek. It's more them doing it to themselves. They, themselve, have drank more than you two together."

That last sentence left both me and Bowser flabbergasted. "More than us!? Are they okay!?" I held my hand in front of my mouth while Bowser asked Mario more like that.

"Calm-a down. That koopa, Kai, has been taking care of them. They seem to still be a little. How do I put it? A little... ehh... drunk, I guess." Bowser seemed slightly less annoyed.

"Where are they? I want to make sure you haven't done anything to them." He squinted his eyes, and Mario quickly replied with his hand. Moving it as a sign to follow him.

And because I wanted to check on Kamek as well, I followed. We didn't walk for long before Mario opened a door and let us in. We saw Kamek and Kai kind of cuddling on the bed.

Kamek seemed to be asleep, while Kai was looking at us. "Oh, good morning, guys! Don't worry, Kamek is alright. But they're asleep, so try not to be too loud." He wasn't talking that loud himself either.

"Did nothing happen to them?" Bowser asked, probably still not convinced. "Nope, beside them telling me some stories and us cuddling, nothing happened."

Bowser sighed in relief before Mario grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the room. While I was obviously curious about what they'd do, I stayed.

"Did it take long for them to fall asleep?" I asked, Kai nodded in reply. "I haven't slept myself yet. They were more important than me tonight."

"You should get some sleep as well. They're asleep now, anyway. It's never healthy to pull an all-nighter, and if they wake up, I'm sure they'd understand."

Kai yawned and nodded before I left the room. Outside of the room, I couldn't see Bowser or Mario anywhere. I looked around some more but ended up walking into Peach.

"Oh, Luigi! Have you seen Mario? I can't seem to find him anywhere." She seemed in quite a hurry. "I have, but lost him as well. He was with Bowser before he left me. And knowing how those two are together, we'll have to find them before they kill each other."

I didn't even want to think about the number of things they could be doing, but Peach seemed to be in too much of a hurry, not to tell. "Let's find them!" She grabbed my hand and dragged me along with her.
