"About five o'clock those boys came up
And they could see those spooks were real,
And they knew they'd better get right to work so they revved up the Ectomobile.
Yeah, the boys were ready, their aim was steady, and their hearts were made of steel."

"Ow."
"Samuel? What in Notch's name are you doing?" Drake asked, yelling.
"Sorry..." I spoke.
Drake sighed, "Did you at least find anything good?"
"Hm? Oh, yes! Of course!" I responded.
I pulled out the frying pan I had found earlier.
"Tada!"
"Wha-? A... frying pan? You found a frying pan?"
"Yeah, I guess you could say that-"
"You ONLY GOT A USELESS FRYING PAN?!?"
"It's not useless!" I yelled back in defense.
"What use could that possibly have?" Drake asked, yelling.

After a moment of silence, I responded.
"You can fry stuff with it."

"Drake, just let him keep it... The longer you keep up the argument with him, the dumber you get, and I should know, earlier we argued about whether or not grass can feel pain... I legitimately forgot how to do basic addition for a week..." Grayson whispered to Drake.

Drake sighed, "Alright, fine, you can keep it..."

"Yes!" I exclaimed.

Drake had found some food, and Grayson found a bow and some arrows.
Mia was the only one who didn't find anything.
Until...

She tripped on something, and almost fell face down in a small puddle of mud, but reacted quick enough to reach out her hands and stop her fall
"Careful! You okay?" Grayson asked as he helped Mia back up.
"Yeah, these stupid rocks..."
I gazed down at what she had tripped on.

"Wait a minute, that's not a rock..."
(IT'S A ROCK, LOBSTERRRRR)

It had a cylindrical extension, diagonally poking out from the ground, and strangest of all, it was slightly charred...
I pulled it out of the ground and inspected it.
"What in the nether is this?"

It was a metallic box with a metal cylindrical handle, and a small metal hood.
I wiped off underneath the hood revealing a small screen.

"What is it?" Mia asked.
"I, don't know..." I replied.
Below the screen, was a toggle switch, along with 3 different dials.

I flicked the switch, and at first nothing happened.
Then suddenly, two short poles, one with a flashing tip, extended out from the sides, and upward.
The screen sprang to life, showing a few strings of numbers at the top, a segmented bar on the left, a battery indicator on the top right, a "Class:", and "Type:" readout on the bottom, and a moving ovoidal pattern in the center.
The device was also making a low buzzing sound.

"Wooooah! Cool!" Mia stated, mesmerized.

The buzzing intensity, and direction of the screen pattern changed, depending on which direction I pointed the device in.
"It seems to be some sort of detector..." I assumed.
"But what a detector of what?" Grayson asked.

I pointed it towards the-

Hold on a moment.

It was later in the day, and the sun rises in the east... soooo...

South, it was towards the south.

I think...

It seemed to be detecting something in that direction.

I then looked up, and saw a dark figure...
"Samuel... don't move..." Drake instructed, worried.

"Why?" I asked quietly.

"That's a nightmare..." Drake stated.
"A... nightmare?" I quietly repeated in confusion.

"They're very, very dangerous, ghostlike creatures, and are extremely hostile." Drake explained.

The shadowy creature then abruptly started charging toward us.
"RUN!" Grayson yelled.
