Drake's Perspective

After passing through where the mercenaries had once occupied, we walked another quarter mile ahead, then stopped to wait for Samuel.

After waiting for about 3 minutes, I noticed Grayson started looking worried.
"You alright Grayson?"
"Hm?"
"Is there something on your mind?"

"Yeah, I just, something about Samuel's plan just..."

"Doesn't sit right with me..."
"But I can't put my finger on it..."

Then it hit us.

Samuel had never clarified what he would do after he led away the mercenaries...

Luckily, just before we were about to go out and look for him, he appeared in the distance, running up the path towards us.

"Samuel!"
"We were about to go out looking for you!" Grayson said.
"I can handle a few things myself ya' know." He replied.

"You never said what you would do after you led away the mercenaries..." I spoke
"I realized that too, but I thought of something that worked pretty well."
"And that is?" Mia asked
"Simple. They assumed Grayson had already escaped the scene, and I suggested they go notify the king of his last known location."

"Samuel, you're a genius." Grayson commented.
"No, not really." Samuel clarified.

For some reason, despite his clean appearance, Samuel smelled, strange...
