XLIX.

Felix had always been a devoted son. He cherished his mother and siblings, and had always maintained close contact with them, even when he moved out of their family home. However, his life had taken a significant turn after he met Hyunjin. He had fallen head over heels in love with the man, and ever since they had decided to spend more time together, Felix found himself spending three quarters of his time at Hyunjin's apartment.

While he was still in touch with his family, he couldn't help feeling guilty for not being able to give them as much time as he used to. He couldn't attend family gatherings, and he knew his mother was getting old and fragile, but it pained him that he couldn't be there for her as much as he wanted to.

But Felix came up with a plan to at least ease his guilt. He remembered how the angels had sent letters to people on earth, telling them about any significant events occurring in heaven. So he decided to send letters to his mother and siblings whenever he could. He started by telling them how much he missed them and how much he loved them, before going into details about his new life.

He wrote about his work, the weather which was pretty much the same as where his family lived, and he would also include photos of him and Hyunjin, their travels together, and the various foods they cooked. He knew his family would be happy to see him happy. Felix would leave his letters in front of his apartment door, and someone from the angels would pick it up a while later.

His family would always reply, asking him how he was doing, how he and Hyunjin were getting along, and what their plans were for the future. Felix loved reading the letters, it was a small way of keeping in touch and they filled him with a sense of warmth and nostalgia.

Felix knew he couldn't be there for his mother and siblings physically all the time, but he hoped that his letters would bring them some comfort. He also knew that his mother and siblings were happy for him and Hyunjin, and that was all that mattered to him. For now, he would continue to live his life with Hyunjin, and make sure to send letters to his family, reminding them how much he loved them.

„Dear Felix,

I hope this letter finds you well. I couldn't help but think of you and Hyunjin while I was baking a batch of your favorite cookies. Do you still like chocolate chip or have you moved on to something fancier? Speaking of cookies, have you taught Hyunjin how to bake yet? I know he didn't have much experience in the kitchen when you first met him.

How is everything in your part of the world? Is it still sunny or has it started raining? I bet Hyunjin loves taking walks in the rain with you. Does he still sing in the shower, or has he learned to be quieter now that you're partly living together?

Have you been practicing your dancing skills? I still remember how much you used to practice when you were younger. I do hope you haven't given up on it completely.

Oh, and before I forget, how's your friends cats doing? I'm sure they're loving all the attention she's getting from you and your friends. I really think that you two should acquire some pet. I know how you two love pets.

Anyway, I miss you and your silly antics. Don't forget to give Hyunjin a kiss from me!

Felix couldn't help but chuckle as he read the letter aloud to Hyunjin, who had just stepped out of the shower. "She's so adorable," Felix said, grinning from ear to ear.

Hyunjin laughed. "Your mom really is the best. I miss her too," he said, as he wrapped his arms around Felix.

"I can't believe she still thinks I sing in the shower," Hyunjin added, giggling, kissing Felix's hair.

Felix just shook his head. Even though he was slightly embarrassed by his mom's silly questions, he couldn't help but feel grateful for her love and care. He looked forward to writing her back and updating her on their life together.
