Y/N POV

I sighed as I placed Miguel's clothes in his drawer since I did laundry even though there were times I just felt lazy and wanted to lay down,my mother always taught me that a woman should play her role in the house.

Miguel helps around like cooking and also cleaning but I'm doing the rest,it made it feel real how I'm actually living with Miguel.

"Hey baby" I heard,I turned to see miguel by our bedroom doorway.I smirked

"Hey babe,is nessa done?"

"No she's just playing with her Barbie in the tub for now" he said walking in,I nodded as I closed the draw. "Can we talk?"

My eyebrows furrowed "yeah sure" I said as he held my hand and walked to our bed before sitting on the edge as I sat beside him, "what's up"

"I honestly don't really know where to start but..I've been thinking ever since we went on our date for the first time in years that we're gonna work this shit out" he said

"I just want to thank you for giving us another try and for letting me see Vanessa everyday when I wake up until when I'll go to sleep,it's always been my dream.." he said as I smiled holding his hand

"You know that you and nessa mean the world to me,I don't ever want to lose my girls again..you did a lot for me-you was just yourself and that made me fall in love with you" he said as I felt my throat tighten,fuck..

"I always prayed that we would fix things and he answered my prayers-and he doesn't know how much I thank him..but basically what I'm tryna say is thst I'm grateful for everything" he said before standing up and walking to his dresser,

He grabbed a little box as he walked back over to me,the box looked familiar but I couldn't think of it in the moment.He opened the box while sitting down next to me again

I scoffed before I covered my mouth knowing I was gonna cry,it was the promise ring he gave me back in high school "you've seen me wear the old necklace you gave me back then and you've been wearing the necklace that I gave you" he spoke

"So I want you to wear the ring again..I want to promise you" he said before grabbing my hand and placing the ring on,I chuckled since it still fit

FLASHBACK

"Hey baby! Happy one year anniversary!" miguel shouted as he walked into my bedroom,I gasped before he picked me up as I laughed

"Happy one year babe" I said as we connected our lips,he placed me back on my feet "I wanna give you your gift already!"

He smiled while nodding before sitting on my bed "show me hermosa" he spoke as I grabbed the little bag from my nightstand and handed it to him,

He quickly took the paper out the bag before seeing a black long box,he smiled as he took it out and opened it seeing a necklace.

His jaw dropped "holy shit,I love it-it's so cool" he said before looking up at me and quickly standing up giving me a juicy kiss "thanks baby"

"Of course babe" I responded "and don't ask how much it was" he nodded while laughing

"Okay I think I won best gifts" he said before placing the necklace back in its box,he laid the box on my vanity before opening my door again and bending down to pick something up

He then faced me showing a teddy bear with a box,I gasped before jumping into his arms "aw you love me" I said pulling away before taking the bear from his hand

"Yeah no shit,here-and don't ask how much it was" he mocked me,I rolled my eyes as I opened it.My eyes widen before I looked into his,

"Mikey?" I asked in shock,he smiled as he took the pretty ring out of its box.He took the little box out of my hands before placing the ring onto my finger as I was still speechless

"I'm giving this to you cause you showed me the definition of true love..I wanna have a future with you,no matter what happens there will always be a miguel and y/n.I promise you my life" he spoke,tears filled my vision as I hugged him tightly with my arms around his neck

"I love you" I breathed out

"I love you too babe" he said as he rubbed my back to comfort me

END OF FLASHBACK

"Y/n..I promise you my life" he said as I felt my chest tighten,i exhaled before crashing my lips onto his.He kissed me back multiple times before placing my head in his neck so I can relax

I then moved my head back to look at him "I hate you" I joked with a giggle,he chuckled before kissing my forehead

"Mommy!" Nessa shouted from the bathroom,i sniffled before wiping the tear that rolled down my cheek as I looked at the ring

"I'll get you a better one..a one with more meaning,something more than a promise ring" he says with a smirk,I smiled knowing what he meant

I picked his cheek before getting up from the bed and walking out to the bathroom,I took a deep breathe cause I knew it was kinda obvious that I was crying and I didn't want to worry Vanessa.

I walked in seeing her playing with her doll, "need to wash my hair mommy" she said as she tapped her chubby hand on his head as I grinned

"Yes baby I know" I said as I walked over to her and kneeled down,I rinsed the conditioner out of her hair while having my other hand hover her forehead so the soap didn't go in her eyes.

"I like your ring mama" she said pointing at it,I smiled

"Thanks baby,daddy gave it to me" I told her,she randomly started laughing making me laugh with her..
