Alone At 22

The clock ticks by, twenty-two years gone
Still I stand alone, no place to belong
My heart aches, my dreams still unfulfilled
My loneliness so clear, no one to build

My days are spent in quiet despair
My wounds so deep, no one to repair
No one to hold me, no one to call
My empty arms reach out, for nothing at all

My joy is gone, my sorrows remain
As I try to find a reason to explain
Why I am here, so isolated and cold
My future so bleak, too hard to behold

My silent tears fall, my pain I will keep
I am twenty-two, but still alone, no one to love me
