Through a winding road, I must go
To a place I do not know
My feet drag through the darkened night
My spirit is filled with fright
The path is long and winding
My heart is cold and binding
The darkness that I must pass through
Is more than any heart can do
But I must press on and keep going
I know I must keep going
Through fire, pain, and turmoil
I must make it to my goal
My strength I will not give in
But I can't help but feel the pain within
The heat of hell burns my skin
But I must keep going if I'm to reach the end
As I travel through this place
My heart longs for a softer grace
But I must go through this hell
To reach the heavenly gates that are held
At the end of the path I will find
A brighter, warmer place in my mind
Where I can lay my spirit to rest
And find a peace I've never known before
