Autumn Air

The Autumn air is chill and bare
No warmth can linger in the air
The trees lay dormant, their leaves gone
The colors of life are now withdrawn

The sun sets early, long before night
And all that's left is a sad twilight
The birds have gone away to rest
Their songs are silent, nothing left to bless

The world grows quiet as the days grow short
The coldness of the air makes me feel forlorn
The beauty of the season fades away
Leaving me here alone to stay
