Summer Is Gone

The summer days are gone, the air is getting cold
The warmth of the sun has been replaced by a chill
The leaves are changing hues, the birds have flown away
My heart is heavy as summer fades away

The days of joy and laughter are now in the past
The garden is empty, the colors are fading fast
The birdsong is gone, the leaves are all brown
The sadness of goodbye is washing over me like a frown

The days of swimming and playing have come to an end
The joy and laughter that once filled the air have now all gone
The days of summer are over, the sun has set
The memories of happiness will stay in my heart forever yet
