My Home Is In The Shadows

My home is in the shadows, where the darkness reigns
Where the sun never shines, and the moon waxes and wanes
The walls are painted black, the windows are all barred
No light can penetrate, no hope can be charred

The air is thick with sorrow, the silence is deafening
No laughter echoes here, no joy is ever beckoning
The shadows dance around me, their fingers cold and cruel
They whisper haunting melodies, their voices like a ghoul

The floors creak with every step, the stairs groan in protest
As I wander through this darkness, my heart feels so oppressed
There's no escape from this place, no way to see the light
My home is in the shadows, and here I'll stay in fright

But in this dark abode, I find a strange solace
For in the shadows, I am hidden from the malice
Of the world outside, where the light shines so bright
Here in the shadows, I can hide and take respite

So I'll embrace the darkness, make it my home
For in the shadows, I am free to roam
No one can find me, no one can see
My home is in the shadows, where I'll forever be
