chapter 6 "sneaking out"

Kier was still sick, but that didn't stop him from sneaking out of the building he lived in to see his best friend.

He got up from bed, putting on any outfit he could find - which ended up being an Archery outfit his father gave him - Kier flipped on the hood over his still growing red horns.

Kier softly opened the door after putting his pouch on. He slowly made his way down to the first floor where most of the alcoholics were.

Kier sneezed as he walked through the green grass, making his way out to his and Devs spot where Dev would usually be waiting.

Kier sat down, allowing the hood to fall back and reveal his horns.

"Dev!" Kier called out in front of the water, trying to catch his sea serpent friends' attention.

Soon enough a riptide appeared in the water and Dev swam over to Kier.

"Kier! You're feeling better..? You don't look normal. Kier... Are you still sick?" Dev's tone was like an angry mother catching her child doing something bad.

"Yeah but I wanted to see you, Dev.." Kier said as a response. He leaned down and hugged Dev tightly.

"Whatever Kier.. promise you'll go back to bed after ?" Kier nodded, not daring to release his arms from Dev's neck.

Dev lifted himself more out of water so he could hug Kier back. They held the hug for quite some time before one of them had finally decided to speak up.

"Dev..?" Kier spoke first, then Dev responded with, "yeah, Kier?" ...

"I love you. Do you love me too?" Kier asked quietly.

Which then Dev had a response of "yes.. I love you too, Kier."

Kier squeezed Dev even tighter, his head over Dev's slightly wet shoulder.

The sun shined above the duo, bringing summer warmth to both of their bodies.

Kier accidentally sneezed on Dev. It was a big sneeze too.

"Ew! Kier!" Dev pulled away quickly. He dove back into the water and washed his back off.

Meanwhile on the surface. Kier was giggling his ass off. He found it to be funny how Dev reacted to being sneezed on. Kier's tail wagged, another sign of his visible and hearable happiness.

"Sorry Dev!" He managed to blurt out while giggling.

"Bless you." Dev said angrily as he resurfaced, glaring at Kier.

Kier started laughing even harder, loving Dev and his entire personality so much. No matter what.. the two would never leave each other's side. Just like the promise they made weeks ago, they were never going to split up. Even if one was on the brink of death, the other would be there. Holding him in his arms. Tears streaming down both of their faces... Of course though that would never happen. They were already very protective of each other. And would never ever allow the other to get hurt. Never.

Dev slid back up onto land, hugging Kier. "Looks like you're feeling better already hm?" Dev teased Kier while stroking his messy and tangled brown hair.

"Only because I'm near you." Kier chuckled and took a deep breath to calm down.

The two of them sat there, basking in the morning sun together. Just the two of them.. relaxing and enjoying each other's presence. They were calm.. and relaxed... And—

"GUYS! GUYS!" A familiar voice shouted from behind, disturbing the peace. The accent was very recognizable. It was YelloWool.

Kier turned around, looking at YelloWool with a slightly upset look on his face. "What..?"

"LOOK AT THIS!" YelloWool shouted as he kept running towards them, holding something in his padded hands.

"What is it?" Dev asked with a slight tilt of his head.

YelloWool made it to his destination: next to Kier. YelloWool opened his hand to show a bloody and sharp tooth.

"Woah! Isn't that like a ridgeback or wyvern tooth?" Kier asked, staring down at the tooth with curiosity.

"Mhm! It is! The person who gave it to me was a mix of both, kinda cool." YelloWool said with a tail wag. He dipped the tooth in the water and swished it around to clean it off.

"So did they just give it to you or..?" Dev asked, leaning on Keir's lap.

"He gave it to me, said I could keep it!" YelloWool pulled the tooth out of the water. It was quite the unique tooth.

"That's super cool..you should bring him to meet us sometime." Keir said as he gently poked the tooth, just poking the edge slightly stung.

"I would but he really doesn't enjoy meeting certain people." YelloWool shrugged before continuing on speaking. "It would take some persuading to do, but I think I could get him to come over."

Dev and Kier nodded nearly in sync. They were so alike yet so different at the same time.

"Alright!" YelloWool said happily as he stood back up and stretched. "I'll bring him over tomorrow, is that a deal?" He asked as he gently rubbed the wet tooth in his hand.

"Sure!" Kier said, looking down at Dev who was 'zoned out', staring at Kier's left wing. He was listening completely. To every single word they said. Though it seemed like he wasn't paying attention at all.

"DE-" Kier was about to shout before he sneezed into his arm loudly which got Dev's attention for him.

"Huh?" Dev said, looking up at Kier with a confused look on his serpentine face.

"Were you listening?" Kier asked, petting Dev's head softly.

"Oh.. yeah I was. And yes, do. Ring him over tomorrow... Whoever 'he' is." Dev yawned and showed off his own mouth and sharp teeth to the other two. He was probably jealous that some stupid ridgeback-wyvern's tooth was getting so much attention.

Kier put two fingers in Dev's mouth while it was still open so he couldn't close it. "Hah." He said, feeling Dev's sharp teeth.

Dev closed his mouth softly. Though it still drew blood from Kier's finger.

Kier quickly pulled his finger back, causing it to be cut and for more blood to spill. Dev got a taste of the blood. He wanted more.

"OW! DEV!" Kier held onto his bleeding finger.

Dev grabbed Kier's hand and placed his mouth on the bleeding part, practically drinking the blood like a vampire.

"DEV STOP THAT STINGS!" Kier demanded. He couldn't pull his hand away.. Dev was too strong.

"Is that some sort of weird kink you two have?" YelloWool asked, looking a bit disgusted.

"No. I don't know why he's doing it. He's a weirdo." Kier scoffed and ended up coughing a little bit due to him still being sick.

Dev released Kier's finger and let him go. "There, the bleeding stopped." Dev smiled in a 'wholesome' manner.

"Fuck you, Dev." Kier said, pulling fully away from Dev.

"Aww .. sorry, Keir." Dev mumbled before diving back into the water, hoping Kier would feel bad for him. Which he didn't.

"While you're down there get me some fish.. I'm very hungry.." Keir requested, crossing his arms.

"Well uh- I'll see you two tomorrow!" YelloWool exclaimed before he ran off into the nearby forest.

"Bye Yello!.... Dev you down there?"

Kier stuck his head under the water only to be greeted by a fish being sober in his mouth. He quickly pulled out and dropped the fish on land.

"EW, DEV!"
