Dev knew that most sailors or pirates didn't enjoy the presence of a sea serpent. Because usually pirates were fire dragons or orcs. Dev could only hope they were fire dragons and NOT orcs. Cause if Kier was up there he wanted him to be safe.
Dev took in as much water as he could and swam up, circling the ship to see what people were on it...
Fire dragons! Dev grinned and swam off. well- not really. He just swam far enough so he could get enough momentum to lunge himself aboard.
Dev swam so fast it tired out his body. He barely had enough energy for lunging himself aboard but he did it. He made it on the ship, accidentally breaking a couple of wooden boards.
"AH- OW!" Dev accidentally said, his back arching off of the broken wood.
He rolled over and looked back, being surrounded by fire dragons each holding a different weapon to Devs body.
"State your purpose, SERPENT!" A female fire dragon said, Dev could tell she must've done this a lot due to the amount of scars on her body and how ... buff she was!
"Uh.." Devs earfins tucked back as he raised up his hands, trying to mean no harm to the Fire dragons.
"SPEAK." She said, holding a flame tipped spear to Dev's throat.
Dev lifted his head, slightly wincing at the sharpness against his neck. "I'm looking for my friend, his name is Kier!" Dev said, his tongue flicking in the air, smelling around him. It mostly smelt like burnt chicken.
"Is that the one we found in the water? YOU'RE TRYING TO KILL HIM. No serpent can trick me. Not after one killed Apa." The woman began to draw blood from Dev's neck with a sharp grin on her face. Dev didn't blame her, she was doing her job and protecting the ship. But damn she was as rude as Longwangs bloody neck.
"Pleasse I'll go back in the water just let me ssee if he's OKAY!" Dev exclaimed, accidentally adding a hiss to his words.
The pirate woman drew back her spear and tapped the oakwood floors, causing the rest of the fire dragons to draw back their weapons as well.
"Off." She demanded with a snarl, showing off her sharp teeth to the serpent.
Dev nodded before pulling himself overboard, plopping into the water. It was a great relief to be back in the ocean where he belonged. Dev looked up at the ship, waiting.
"He will be here soon, serpent." The female fire pirate captain walked off, a couple of pirates stayed and watched Dev to make sure he didn't do anything harmful.
It wasn't too long before the captain brought back Kier. "Do you know this creature, Dragonet?" She asked, helping Kier stand so he didn't fall flat on his face.
Kier gasped, looking past the railings and down at Dev, whose shiny black eyes widened with happiness.
"KIER! KIER IM SORRY I DIDN'T MEAN TO LET YOU GO!" Dev exclaimed, regret running through his voice like lava spilling from a volcano.
Kier smiled softly.. "it's okay, Dev! Just roll on your stomach!" Kier spread his wings and arms, causing the captain to back away.
"What's going on?" She said, watching as Dev rolled on his stomach, him knowing what Kier was gonna do.
Kier jumped off of the boat, landing on Dev's back. It didn't hurt Dev too much since he was flexible, but Dev being the dramatic dumbass he was...
"Ow... Kier you could have broken my bAck!" Dev complained as he started to swim off, feeling Kier wrap his arms around his neck.
"Oh shut up you idiot." Kier kissed Dev's neck softly, but only because he wanted to. No other reason for doing so.
Dev smiled and rolled over, managing to keep Kier above water. Dev lifted himself up, causing Kier to slide down on his tail.
"What are you doing?" Kier asked, wrapping his legs tightly around Dev's lower half.
Dev managed to get into a position where he could cup Kier's face and start kissing it. Dev planted a kiss almost everywhere, and for the finale? He kissed kier on the lips, feeling Kier's tongue push down his throat.
It was their first time seeing each other after two days. Yeah two days isn't much but they always spend time together.
Kier's right hand gripped onto the back of Dev's neck, feeling the ruby and sapphire necklace he gifted Dev. Meanwhile Kier's left hand found its way below Dev's gills, rubbing the area gently.
Dev's left arm wrapped around Kier's waist area, and his right hand rubbed Kier's chest softly.
Kier pulled back from the kiss, needing air. Dev smiled softly at Kier- of course he wasn't breathless. He didn't even breathe air!
"I.. love you." Kier said in-between huffs, bringing himself even closer to Dev. "And I absolutely love kissing you.."
"I love you too Kier, I love you too. I'm never going to let you go again." Dev connected his lips with Kier's again, but this time it was only a soft peck.
Kier sighed happily and hugged Dev, his wings spreading out wide and with one flap he somehow propelled them through the water.
Devs shiny black eyes widened "woah! Your wings they can like- be those things that boats have! You know.. that uses the wind?"
Kier let go of Dev and giggled at him not knowing the name of what he was talking about. "Do you mean a SAIL?" Kier asked, rubbing Dev's shoulder softly.
"I- yes." Dev nodded, sighing softly before a smile grew on his face.
"Guess my wings are kinda like a sail.. WAIT I HAVE AN IDEA!" Kier exclaimed with a large and happy smile on his face.
"What is it?" Dev asked calmly, laying back down in the salt water of the mighty sea.
"Roll over onto your stomach!" Kier turned around, now facing towards Dev's lower snake half.
Dev did as told and rolled onto his stomach. He began to swim slow and steady as usual when Kier was on him.
Kier began to flap is wings, propelling him and Dev through the water. They both absolutely loved it so Kier flapped his wings a couple of times and it sent them flying through the water at a quicker pace than usual. Kier grinned and laughed, having so much fun like this.
Kier closed his wings, allowing them to rest for a little while he enjoyed the breeze of the wind. He was so relaxed when he was with Dev.
Eventually they stopped, reaching their spot. There it was.. land. Finally Kier was able to go back on land.
Kier got up and off of Dev, limping onto land. Kier faceplant into the ground, it might've hurt but damn the smell of grass was so good.
"KIER!" A slightly recognizable voice could be heard running up to Kier.
It was Kier's sister, excited to see Kier again after he was gone for... three to four days. Kier stood up and limped towards his sister, giving her a hug."LILA!" Kier exclaimed, hugging his sister tightly. Dev watched from the water, mostly trying to hide from Kier's sister's sight.
"KIER WHERE WERE YOU?! OH MY L.W. DID YOU BREAK YOUR ANKLE?!" Lila said, quickly rushing to check on Kier's ankle.
"Uh- I was just exploring and I got a little lost.. sorry, sis." Kier sighed and smiled softly. Yeah his sister was a little annoying and overprotective but he didn't mind. She cared about him so it was good.
"Alright well come inside! Mom made dinner two hours ago! Wait- what is that." Lila glared at Dev, noticing the serpentine being.
"Huh? Probably nothing..." Kier shrugged, watching as Dev went back underwater to hide.
"If you say so- BUT COME ON!" Lila dragged Kier back into their home, her tail wagging with excitement and happiness.
Finally everything was back to normal. Dev got Kier back home and they were finally happy. Not only that the storm was probably light around Kier's home, which would have watered the Sakura seed.
Dev could already notice a small sprout. Signifying their friendship wasn't over yet. And Dev knew it would never end. He'd stay by Kier's side until death. Just like a married couple. Death will do us part.
